kyle: a worker at a local childcare center funded and upkept by the hammerlocke guild. the children he helps watch over are those typically displaced and discovered by the guild. mostly a soccer coach, but sometimes serving as a battle coach, using his very few years of experience attempting guildwork as well as a childhood of practice as a template. most of his family went into some sort of guild (or at least attempted), but after the loss of his father on a mission, he decided the path wasn't for him. he's rather talented, and has much to teach (despite some people thinking he's not the brightest). while his attention span could use some work, he picks up on physical trades with ease and manages to get through learning new skills through sheer stubbornness alone. he is as excitable, if not more so, than the kids he watches--and definitely louder, very, very, louder.

heidi: the lead guitarist in a punk band called lightning rod; she was previously a hand at the hammerlock childcare facility, which she commuted to daily from her home in spikemuth. despite her gruff appearance, kids love her, and she has a way of making them feel her equal. while she is no longer there daily, heidi is still on staff as upper management at the center and drops by often. she and kyle often arm wrestle in front of the kids, which always gets them excited, and makes heidi very happy--until they also start suggesting throwing some thunderbolts and flame kicks into the mix.

mura: a seamster that lives in glimwood tangle, capable of making enchanted cloth from his incredibly durable and versatile hair. he can create evolutionary items, held items, and protective clothing, so long as it is made of fabric. with abilities that could benefit many, it's only suiting that he gives everyone that gives him requests a hard time. guilds tolerate him and stay in contact with him, as much as they'd wish not to do so. unfortunately, he doesn't tend to pick sides, and conflicting parties have both benefited from his works as they've fought one another. the source of a lot of his power comes from his mother, his sole caretaker, an incredibly powerful sorceress with transformative abilities, a ditto that originated from the distant region of kanto. while he regards much of the world with indifference, he is incredibly fond and protective of her. she would be really, really proud of him--he's made a lot of things for that one "orphan place" (as he calls it--only to get hit by a guitar), and only gave them a kind-of hard time.

fleur: a member (or perhaps former, at this point) of the ice guild. her strength and durability is frequently questioned by her colleagues due to her companion typing, although she'd like to think it lends her versatility. a combination of natural temperament and her environment have made her unconfident, easily frightened, and anxious. after a failed mission, she left her home of circhester to travel around galar for some "soul searching". she has stopped in many places, including glimwood tangle, where she befriended an...odd, fanged man, who has helped her fix her cape, with him surprisingly paying mind to its special properties. however pleased, her stay was short, and she eventually departed to meet her childhood friend, missy, at her residence in hammerlocke, where she'd be temporarily staying. despite her appearance, she is a huge fan of the band lightning rod.

missy / marissa: clever, observant, witty, puzzle-loving, and, secretly, mischief-loving. her poker face makes it easy to blame her small jokes on others, which she has no guilt in exploiting. she is the assistant / right-hand man of the private detective, felix, although their relationship often resembles one that is much more familial. an incident in her childhood led to the loss of the most of her immediate family, and for a time she was under his care as a friend of the family until she could be taken in by extended relatives she had in ballonlea. this move resulted in her losing contact for a long time with her childhood friend, fleur, but in balllonlea she met kyle, who was on vacation with his family. in a terribly dark period of her life, he was a bright spark she looked forward to seeing. once she was old enough to travel, she reunited with felix and insisted she work by his side.
