So here is Prompt 22 for @ladrienjune and man was it fun. I got it in a bit late due to a fairly busy day and some physical pain,but damn did i love writing it. I want to say the constant switching between Adrien and Chat, as well as between HM and Gabriel, is entirely intentional. The walls are coming down for Adrien; he can't keep everything separate any more. Warning for mentions of blood and dismemberment.

Chat had to admire Ladybug. He was dating her, so that made sense, but till; he admired her. She had to have found out about Hawkmoth recently; she hadn’t even hinted at it before today. And now they were fighting Hawkmoth… his father? He couldn’t think about that now. They were fighting Hawkmoth, and the only hint she had given was when she dropped into his room and… she was making sure he wasn’t hurt, wasn’t she? She was perfect. What would she think of him, now that the truth was out? Would she be upset? He couldn’t think about that now. He had to beat his fa- Hawkmoth. THEY had to beat Hawkmoth

He threw himself in front of Ladybug; she had to stay ok. He deflected Hawkmoth’s blow with his baton, and returned a lunge against the man behind Hawkmoths mask. Adrien was normally good at compartmentalizing, but he just couldn’t separate Hawkmoth from his father. Even as his baton slammed into the man’s stomach, a part of Chat couldn’t help but see his father in pain. Even as Adrien continued pressing his advantage, he still saw a bit of his father in Hawkmoth’s determined gaze. Did it make him a bad son because he wasn’t going to stop?

Chat thought back to some times with his father; could he have known? Should he have? Adrien quickly came to the realization that there weren’t many times he could draw on to check. There had been the book, but his father had been able to explain it away...He could usually talk himself out of any blame. Chat hated that his father could make others responsible but never had to take the blame himself. Adrien’s next blow hit hard; if it weren’t for the Miraculous he’s sure he would have broken a rib. It was getting easier to see his father and Hawkmoth as one, and Chat hated it. He hated how obvious it was that his father was the villain of Paris.

Adrien felt a slash against his cheek, and a warm trickle down his face. Hawkmoth wasn’t going to hold back any more. He felt the trickle hit his mouth, and decided to wipe it away with his gloved hand while Hawkmoth backed off slightly for breathing room. Chat looked to Ladybug, she was holding something. Had he called her Lucky Charm? The red and black dotted cell phone in her hand seemed to say yes. He hadn’t heard her. He looked to Hawkmoth; he was talking? Adrien’s head was throbbing, he couldn’t make out the words. It didn’t matter. Chat took the opportunity to look around the battlefield, the office. Everything was wrecked; he hadn’t realized they had done so much damage. Wait, where was Nathalie? He couldn’t see her. He hoped she managed to get out safely.
