feels like i haven’t drawn in like, oh 120 days or so. but i stumbled into a local plein air festival and got struck with a mighty need so here’s to a couple hours of oh HOW do watercolors work again, oh noo i forgot this pigment reactivates when wet, blend damn you, what is color theory and why does it hate me, ahh fuck whoops fuck fuck, oh hey a vulture c:

#lots of expletive-mantled mistakes on this one for sure #the jawline in particular did me grievous harm #how dare u worsen when i try to fix u #then highlight the coverup attempt #rude!!!#i take it back: capillary action is a MENACE and *having a circulatory system or whatever* isn’t worth it #anyway. glad to have complaining-as-enrichment back in my enclosure #instead of complaining as. symptom of systemic aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa #this was fun we should do this again sometime ^-^#field notes #draw #more notes than usual #edit: since this is being seen by a couple people i feel honor bound to mention #this isn’t exclusively watercolor #i also used calligraphy ink - my beloved waterman black #didn’t bust out the bleach for this one though #you *could* get a similar effect for the bg/feathers with watercolor but it would be More Work
