It’s time for a fic post!! I said I was finishing all my WIPs, and that wasn’t a lie lmao. I’m going to start out with this one, which I consider a horror/thriller. This is M-rated with the rating to eventually go up, so please proceed with caution. The chapters will likely be long again, but hopefully not as long as TA. I actually consider this a sort of sibling to TA, in spirit, though the two stories have no connection. This first update is the prologue. Thoughts, concerns, comments etc are always welcome!

Title: Beneath the Skin

Warnings: None for the prologue, but this is a 2Doc fic that will eventually go a little off the rails. I’m going to add tags and warnings as the story progresses. I’m trying to keep parts of the plot a mystery for now haha.

Summary: A seemingly benign trip to 2D's home in Crawley leads to a series of events neither 2D nor Murdoc could have ever prepared for.

The tub cracked, and the sound echoed in the bathroom. Mirabel flinched, recoiling in horror. They’d barely moved back in - why was Casita cracking again? She reached out a hand to trace it, and it widened, spreading into the base of the tub. She jumped up, and stared at her fingers, pulse racing. 

She looked to the cabinet. “Was it - me? All along?” she mouthed. Casita feverishly shook the cabinet with a resounding no.

Tears formed in Mirabel's eyes. “Casita - ” she whispered. Was this supposed to be a gift?

Mirabel grimaced. “I’m sorry about - about all of this.” she said, rubbing her eyes and putting her glasses back on. 

Bruno sighed, eying her. “Kid, I just want you here and safe.” 

Mirabel gave him a stilted smile.

“Harry, it’s time that I told you the family secret,” his dad says with a completely straight face.

“I’m sorry, what?” Harry laughs.

“The family secret. Are you ready, son?” His dad moves to stand behind the recliner, resting both of his hands on it.

“I suppose,” Harry says with a huge smirk.

“Alright, then. Well, the fact of the matter is… that the men in our family… are able to travel in time… specifically back in time.”

Harry just stares at his dad for a few seconds before bursting out in laughter.

“Are you taking the piss?”

“You seem to be taking it better than I did. When your grandfather told me I went for ‘Fuuuuck’, but then again it was the 70’s.”

“You’ve got to be joking.”

Over the years, Harry’s father has played many pranks on him, but this is a whole new level. Where did he even come up with this idea?

“It’s totally real,” his dad says with a straight face.

But still, she’s not Gojo.

Who doesn’t even have the excuse of being a girlfriend to be a possessive shithead. Mostly, Ieiri thinks it’s funny. Gojo derails Yaga’s lecture midway when Getou gets a text, he stares in quizzical shock when Getou mentions having been to a bakery before, a second before he realizes and the outrage sets in. It’s fun, seeing the extremes play out on Gojo’s face the way they hadn’t before. Everyone else catching on and realizing he’s as much of a teenage boy as he is their next God.
