Let’s break down the Evolut-ilid combo: 1) Start with Fertilid and Evolution Sage on the battlefield. 2) Pay the 1G and remove a counter from the Fertilid to search and put a basic land on the battlefield. This will trigger the Evolution Sage, which will proliferate the remaining +1/+1 counter on the Fertilid, topping it back off. This small combo isn’t game breaking but can really help you reliably ramp out basic lands in a hurry/each turn.

If you’re running Golgari colors, you can run Squandered Resources and Lotus Cobra along side the Evolut-ilid combo. When the land enters the battlefield, you produce a mana of any color from Lotus Cobra’s landfall ability. You can then sacrifice the tutored land to the Squandered Resources to produce a mana of any color your basic could produce. You now use this 2 mana produced from the Cobra and Resources to activate the Fertilid, tutor the land into play and start the cycle all over again. It’s a good way to profilerate a lot of counters in one turn or stock pile the graveyard with lands for later.

I’d find these card interactions a nice slide in for commanders such a Gitrog, Lord Windgrace, Tatyova, Omnath Locus of Rage and Mazirek as they all have a mechanic based on lands or permanents being sacrificed.

The Llorwyn block will always be my favorite for many many reasons but most of all bc the art all Fucking Slaps. Recreating the watercolor aurora sky with pen and ink would have driven me insane so i didn't <3.
