#fantasy map making

Not posting this on my art account since this technically isn't finished yet. I'm thinking of changing a few things around, like maybe changing some of the shapes of the land masses. Also adding arctic/ice masses up at the poles potentially. I do also plan on making more detailed maps later with the rivers & mountains + names of places.

Main question I have for cartography/world building side of tumblr; is there a way/how do you go about translating a map between different projections? Or even potentially mapping this onto a globe? I specifically chose to do a robinson projection because I thought it looked nice but curious about other potential interpretations of the map-

This is the map I drew of the location of the character.

While searching online, I came across the trend of using dry rice and beans to trace a fantasy map. I loved the idea, but I decided on using flower seeds instead. Because when you want to create something, you start by planting a seed. I thought it was beautiful!

So I gathered a bunch of different flower seeds that I had saved up, such as Zinnia, Sunflower, Lupine, Cosmos, Snapdragons, Daisies, and some wildflower mix, and I spread them across my board, and then shaped them into continents and islands. Here is the result:

After that, I used a pencil to trace along the seeds. Once I had finished and wiped away the seeds, I found that my fantasy world had bloomed! I took a picture of it, put a blue filter on it, and then I erased the blue from the land so it would be more noticeable. Here is the result:

I am so pleased with it. I adore the fact that flowers are what shaped my fantasy world for the book I'm about to start writing. The meaning behind it is beautiful to me. I even plan to include the same flowers in my story that I used to create the map. Zinnia, Sunflowers, Lupine, Cosmos, Snapdragons, Daisies, and wildflowers will all naturally grow and bloom in this fantasy world, and some of them could possibly have an impact on the story just for the symbolism, but who knows.
