i was just like kinda sick of all mcyt for a while, but I'm back. And what's more, I am now interested in yhs again. yay!

Questions from the Form
There's a couple of questions on the interest check form that I would like to answer now! There has been so much support and I'm absolutely ecstatic to see where this event goes too!
Question 1: Why is it called movie night? Mostly due to the podficcing aspect of it. Think of the fics like the movie scripts, and the podfics like the movie being played out?
Question 2: Is there a way to do two things? (E.g. be a podficer and a writer?) Yeah, that will be fine so long as depending on the schedule you think you can complete the requirements for every thing you sign up for.
Question 3: Is there a certain skill level you need to be at for your art? Nope! When sign ups go out (sometime after I get mods on board, which mod sign ups won't be until Mid-August) the biggest thing will be sorting people into teams based on fandoms they want to create for. While we will have requirements for everything in the zine completion wise (e.g. Cleanly lined and colored pieces), there won't be a certain amount of skill necessary to join.
Question 4-6 (submitted as one): How will topic/character selection work, particularly as a writer? What might the schedule look like? How long should a fic be for this event? When signing up there will be a list of fandoms you can choose to write for. Fandoms will be added for every 2-3 mods interested in modding for said fandom content, mods may mod for multiple fandoms. Writers will join the discord that will be made for this event first, as their piece needs to be the one that's complete first in order for podficers to do their part. Writers will be able to write anything within the fandoms they selected upon entering the Movie Night event and will need to list down characters, Major Ao3 Content Warnings, and any important tags they will use in the fic for Podficers and artists to choose from. Shipping will be allowed in the event. Please account for that when sign ups open. I'm not entirely sure what the schedule will look like yet? Mid August I'll be opening up mod sign ups, and once mods are in I'll go over a schedule with them. We want to allow enough time for everyone to get everything done and be able to post/upload during the posting schedule. Fic length requirements are something that I will also talk with the mods about. I want them to be an appropriate length depending on the time the event takes, without taking so long to write that no one else can finish their part. It's likely we'll have a minimum 3k word limit and a max word limit as well for anyone who wants to write over that. Just so that way podficers can create podfics for the works given to them without worrying that the fic won't be done in time for them to do their part.

The Avid Situation
Hello, those of you who follow my fanfiction account.
In regards to the AvidMC and Marma1ade situation, I want to make it clear that I do not support either of them and I am very glad that they've left the mcyt space. I wish all affected people a healthy recovery — I know what it's like to be treated like that.
As for the elephant in the room, my fanfiction centering character!Avid, I will not be taking it down. In fact, I will continue to write the sequel to Hate You, Love You, because it is a passion project that I've poured many hours into. My disgust and hatred toward the content creator will not stifle my creativity.
I viscerally separate character from content creator. I always have and I always will.
Keep creating, and remember never to let someone else's dirt dull your shine.
