Listen, I understand that there are different interpretations for relationships in any media. And I do love exploring them. It’s just so annoying when you basically get shunned for thinking it’s anything other than a Romantic/Sexual(can we stop lumping these together?) Parental, or sibling relationships. And Secret Third Thing is honestly just starting to sound like “These two are in a romantic relationship they just don’t want to label it like that”. Or “These two are friends but we can’t say that cause everyone knows friendship isn’t as important as romance so it has to be something else”. Admittedly secret third thing depends in the fandom and who’s saying it but still. Also just call it a QPR?
Platonic, professional, mentorship, and other familial ties are all relationships that are just as important as romantic, sibling and parental relationships. But if you say that then at best you get ignored and at worst you get called homophobic or a bigot. Even though if you point out when someone is ignoring a character who is canonically ace/aro/aroace you basically just get told to suck it up.
