(UPDATE) took me a while to figure her out, but cure cattleya aka guinevere is finally here! here are her design notes:
cure cattleya is inspired by flower mantids ( specifically the orchid mantis (hymenopus coronatus), with spiny flower mantis (Pseudocreobotra wahlbergi) for the coloring) and orchids, and her season is spring.
her twintails evoke a flower mantis' raptorials, and the shapes on her outfits is based on the petal-like shape of its limbs.
as the spring cure of the team, shes even more flower-forward with orchids in her hair, cuffs and shoes, and her dress looks like an orchid in bloom.
cattleya has a bit of an idol theme since shes pretty well known in the fairy realm, with bold shapes, flashy colors and a big back skirt that unfurls into her wings like a peacocks tail. the spots on her outfit and wings resemble the eye spots on the mantis she's based on.
and for cattleyas fighting style:
in the battlefield, cure cattleya combines theatrical flair and deadly precision, playing tricks upon the opponent with her unpredictable movements and immediately seizing the opportunity to strike when their defenses slip even just a little. aside from physical attacks, she can also summon scythe-like magic blades that can pull opponents closer. once you get into her range, there's no escape.

G’day! After posting the 2nd episode, I’ve finally regained motivation to draw! I’ve redesigned Fuwayama Prep’s Summer Uniforms AND designed the Fuwa Power-Up forms.
Nocturne Style!
I won’t give much info on them now, but I’m still quite proud. I hope y’all like ‘em :)
This is my third Precure fanteam, Expedition Precure, with the themeing of modes of travel (such as sea, sky, land, and space), exploration, and Directions. These are my team members' Cure forms. The summaries will be under a cut, if you want to know more about them.
Sotonoumi Hanna (Cure Voyage): Our Green Cure, and 3rd to join the team.
Cure Voyage has a pirate and sea travel theme, with a sea map on the front of her skirt. Sotonoumi Hanna is a girl who has a direction in her life, a goal to work toward in that she wishes to become a psychologist to help as many people as she can! However, she often hits rough waves that try to prevent her achieving her dream, such as her school not offering anything that helps her toward a psychology course, there being no specialist courses around her, or the potential paths to a degree being too expensive. Despite this, much like pirates, she'll weather the storm through it and try to achieve her dream through all means.
Furo Sagume (Cure Takeoff): Our Black Cure, and 2nd to join the team.
Cure Takeoff has a pilot and sky travel theme, with a flight map on the side of her skirt. Furo Sagume is a girl who gets engaged and absorbed into almost everything she does, when it comes to her hobbies or activities she's invited to participate in. She has no problem taking off toward those things! However, her direction in life often hits turbulence, and she can't take off toward it as easily. She wants to be a composer, but being tone deaf often has her giving up whenever she tries to start, losing all motivation early on. She can take off toward her hobbies, but her goal in life isn't that convenient for her energy. It really drains her to push herself through it, and she often starts from square zero!
Doimaru Tabiko (Cure Traverse): Our Pink Cure, and our lead!
Cure Traverse has an explorer and land travel theme, with a road map on the side of her skirt. Doimaru Tabiko, unlike the other girls, does not have a direction in life at all. She has a hobby she loves, in that she enjoys mountain climbing and rock climbing with her dad, but she knows she doesn't wish to do it as her main thing when she's older. Tabiko finds there's far too many options in front of her to pick just one, and that so many paths in life make it too difficult to decide. She will experiment with plenty of activities due to this, hoping to find her direction, but she values the grass between the paths just as much as the paths themselves. A fun fact about Tabiko is that despite her having a land travel theme, she actively dislikes cars, and will walk, bike, or rollerblade places instead.
Miyasako Ikumi (Cure Shuttle): Our Nebula Cure, and our midseason, last to join the team.
Cure Shuttle has an alien fashion and space travel theme, with an astral map on the back of her skirt. Miyasako Ikumi is a strange girl when it comes to her direction in life, as it's already decided, and she tries to live as though it's already achieved. Despite this, others will find her goal in life a weird one to work toward, almost categorizing it as "alien" compared to the normal directions in life someone would expect. Miyasako doesn't mind this, though, and says that as long as she's happy and hurting nobody, there's no problem. She'll even help encourage those who are worried about their own goals being too weird, without any judgment. Fun fact about Ikumi: All the constellations on her skirt are real constellations!
The lights came up as a light clicking sound approached the stage. Walking with a peculiarly carved cane was the kindly old woman called Ms. Yumeno, wearing a jumpsuit lovingly designed by her magic-wielding charges. She stopped behind the podium, finding a comfortable standing position and leaned forward to speak.
“Being a magical warrior is hard work. I would know, dearies, I was one. And so was my late apprentice. So trust me when I say that behind every powerful fighter is a powerful friend.“ She laid a weathered , manicured hand on the clean surface.
“Being a pillar of support is a role not many can take. That is why we’re choosing tonight to honor those who have stepped up and been there for the Pretty Cure when no one else was.” She flashed a proud smile, giving off a warm aura as she picked up the nominee card. “Our nominees for the Best Supporting Character are: Quinn Solace from The Precure Investigation by @fennies-fanseries and Princess Dahlia from 8-Bit Pretty Cure by @tiffany-chan123!”
She put down the card and leaned forward a little more, speaking in a stage whisper. “From one supporting character to another, we’re all winners. You’re more important than you could ever know.” Ms. Yumeno righted herself. “Despite that, there is one winner. And that winner is….
