(UPDATE) took me a while to figure her out, but cure cattleya aka guinevere is finally here! here are her design notes:
cure cattleya is inspired by flower mantids ( specifically the orchid mantis (hymenopus coronatus), with spiny flower mantis (Pseudocreobotra wahlbergi) for the coloring) and orchids, and her season is spring.
her twintails evoke a flower mantis' raptorials, and the shapes on her outfits is based on the petal-like shape of its limbs.
as the spring cure of the team, shes even more flower-forward with orchids in her hair, cuffs and shoes, and her dress looks like an orchid in bloom.
cattleya has a bit of an idol theme since shes pretty well known in the fairy realm, with bold shapes, flashy colors and a big back skirt that unfurls into her wings like a peacocks tail. the spots on her outfit and wings resemble the eye spots on the mantis she's based on.
and for cattleyas fighting style:
in the battlefield, cure cattleya combines theatrical flair and deadly precision, playing tricks upon the opponent with her unpredictable movements and immediately seizing the opportunity to strike when their defenses slip even just a little. aside from physical attacks, she can also summon scythe-like magic blades that can pull opponents closer. once you get into her range, there's no escape.
