Dear friends,

I'm sorry for the silence. Due to some drastic changes in my life, I haven’t been able to draw regularly—let alone share my ideas for new Cures with you.

The concept for the green Cure from Kimi to Idol Precure actually came to me quite some time ago—probably while browsing character leaks from this season—but only now have I finally managed to complete the design. 😉

As a "startist" (the kind of artist who starts a new drawing every day but rarely finishes), I still have a few unfinished pieces I hope to share with you soon.

​​・・・​​⟢Best Fanseries Concept: Arcades, Racing Games, & Sweets - Sugar Rush! Pretty Cure ⟢​​・・・

S. U. G. A. R. Jump into your racing car! Sugar Rush, Sugar Rush!

It was one late night when I was bored that the idea to combine one of my favorite disney movies and precure occured in my brain, and I’m glad it did! I knew going in that arcades, and of course, racing had to be the main themes in this fanseries since it’s based on Wreck it Ralph’s Sugar Rush racers. AND Because it is SUGAR Rush, and the game and character’s in this afromentioned game are sweets related, I knew the outfits and names for the cures had to follow suit.

It’s a really fun idea and a great homage to one of my favorite films, and I’m glad you all enjoy it too!

​​・・・​​⟢ Favorite Fancure: Vanelope Von Schmitt/Cure Sweets ⟢​​・・・

Speaking of Sugar Rush! Precure, the main lead is of course, our wisecracking candy princess, Vanelope! Coming up with Vanelope’s design was pretty easy, as, you know, her character already exists. But for Cure Sweets, it was a different story. I struggled with her colors a fair bit, and her outfit too! However, in th end, I think I nailed down a design I’m pretty happy with!

​​・・・​​⟢ Best Team Design: Sugar Rush Pretty Cure ⟢​​・・・

Despite Sugar Rush! Precure just being created, and there only being two cures, I was still nominated for best team design for what I already had! I’m really exicited that people seem to like the designs I’ve already come up with! Despite the plan of there being 5 cures in total, Cure Sweets and Cure Taffy are the only two cures for a while, and so I wanted to make sure that they worked as a duo as well as apart of a bigger team.

Ah, Bittersweet X Daydream! Precure. The series in which the first chapter is still being written for about 4 years now. (I’m not even joking, it’s been that long.) And don’t get me started on Cure Sugar’s design timeline.

But for Cure Spice, her design has been the one that’s stayed mostly the same over the years, and I’m proud that this design was nominated for Coolest Cure!

This one caught me by surprise. I was so estatic to get nominated for this catagory, and so happy people enjoy my art. Bringing my ideas to life and sharing it with the world has always been a dream of mine, so I want to thank everyone who’s at least seen it for being apart of that dream.

So this is a bit of awkward timing to be nominated during this time as, admittedly, I’m still prepping for my fanseries so not everything is set in stone. But I happily accept all these nominations!

Viva la Vida! Pretty Cure has been nominated for four categories for the 2024 @fancuries: Best Fanseries Concept, Coolest Cure (Cure Aurea), Favorite Fancure & Prettiest Cure (Cure Platina)!

As Viva la Vida! Pretty Cure is still in its prep stage, I can only relay so much information without going into major spoiler territory, and I can’t guarantee these are all finalized. But please bare with me and I hope you can still consider my fanseries~

Best Fanseries Concept: Life and Death, Magic, Sorcery

The main theme is pretty heavy for Precure, even for a fanseries. But I’d like to take this opportunity as a fan creator to touch on a more mature series if Toei never will. The main girl herself (Yuki) struggles with the concept of death as she herself cannot cope with the death of her mother even years later, and I want to touch on this subject through her journey and the other girls who are yet to be revealed~ Along her time as a Precure and by the end of the series, she and her friends will learn to live life to the fullest (hence the name of this fanseries).

“Long live life”

The subordinates of the main villain are to be based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, with a motif being based around different horseriders throughout history (old west gunslinger, medieval ages knight, 18th century highwayman, ancient Japan bajutsu). I don’t want to paint death in an entirely bad light as it’s an inevitable fate, so the villains don’t really represent the death to the Precure’s life. They moreso represent rebirth but in a darker sense, but I’ll get into that another day.

Magic and Sorcery play a heavy role in the story of Yuki and the main plague doctor-based villain, Necro. Something to be revealed early on in the series is that Yuki’s late mother was a powerful sorceress, and Yuki will learn to harness this magic source that differs from the power of a Precure. Necro himself is a powerful sorcerer. His goals? I won’t reveal yet, but his character greatly parallels Yuki, especially at the end when Yuki learns to move on. 👀 That is all.

Favorite Fancure & Prettiest Cure: Yuki Ayumu/Cure Platina

Venting her emotions on paper, she is constantly searching for the memory of the drawing she drew the day her mother died in hopes of finally moving on. However, behind her turmoil lies a kind and pure heart waiting to be discovered. As the angelic Cure Platina, she serves as the primary support for the team, providing healing through the power of holy light.

The half-French Maria is cool and collected, albeit narrow-minded and easily impressionable. She hails from the Takara family, owners of a successful jewelry designer business, La Takara. Being the youngest daughter of four, she is left with no important position as a means to inherit and help run the business in the future, leading her to find her own purpose. Maria’s heart of gold has led her to become Yuki’s closest friend, but with her overprotective attitude, is there more than meets the eye? As the mysterious Cure Aurea, the power of crystals aid her in her role as an offensive force.

🕣 TICK TOCK Time Travel Pretty Cure 🕣

Themes: Time travel, history

A group of evil time travelers are trying to manipulate history and steal the coveted Time Jewels to awaken an evil king! The Ethereal Goddess sends one of her precious fairies, Albus to head to Earth to find the Legendary Pretty Cure, the only people with the powers to stop them.

Back on Earth, two college students both studying history, Bria Ethans and Gail Sharpe become rivals, due to rhwir clashing personalities and their hatred towards eachother. Unfortunately for them, not only are they roommates with eachother, they’ve also been chosen to be the new Pretty Cure, meaning they’ll have to be forced to work together. Great….

TICKTOCK Time Travel is a fanseries combining my love for history and magical girls! Not only does it involve some time travelling and learning shenanigans, it has a rivals to lovers story with Bria and Gail! Albus is also my little scrunkly EEEEEEEE

Cure Tempora | Bria Ethans is an energetic and excited young woman, though she's reckless and a bit proud at times. She is loud, brash and extroverted. She tends to act before she thinks, leading her and Gail into trouble. She’s studying to become an archaeologist as she has always dreamed of becoming as a child.

Cure Memoria | Gail Sharpe is a quiet and intelligent young woman, who's also quite cold at times. Gail is introverted, cold and calculating. She’s the brains of the two, but can be blunt at times and can come off as rude, which causes friction between her and Bria. She’s from a rich family that expects highly of her, expecting her to become a lawyer.

Albus is is a rabbit-like Time Fairy from the Ethereal Realm, and is Gail and Bria's fairy guide. A very nerdy and sweet young boy, Albus is responsible and hardworking but can come off as naive somtimes. He has the best intentions in mind, always trying to get Bria and Gail to work together. Though he can't help but be exhausted and tired by their bickering.

☁️ DREAMCATCHERS!! Pretty Cure ☁️

Themes: Dreams (both aspirations and sleep kinds), childhood, reconnecting with your inner child

After years of being trapped behind a barrier, the Nightmare Realm are threatening to escape and take over not only the Dream Realm, but the entirety of the universe. The King and Queen of the Dream Realm gave the Revêur Jewels to their daughter, Princess Celestia and sent her to Earth in a hopes that she’ll find the Legendary Pretty Cure that’ll save them. Celestia, disguising herself as a European foreign exchange student lands in Japan on a quest to find the Pretty Cure, to not only save the universe but prove herself to her parents that she is worthy to be the next Queen.

She thinks this job will be easy when she finds out her potential candidates for Pretty Cure were all childhood best friends. But she soon realises that they had all drifted apart after elementary, and don’t plan on reconnecting. So now Celestia is on a quest to save her Kingdom, and save the Pretty Cures friendship! Won’t be too hard, right??

DREAMCATCHERS!! was actually one of my first ever Pretty Cure fanseries, made back in 2019 and formerly known as Dream Big!! I decided to revamp it a bit and change a bit of the story and cast (Fun Fact: Celestia was originally the midseason cure in the original version!) I currently only have their designs in this chibi/sketch-esque form, I’ll try to give them proper refs later!

Celestia Mercier | Cure Fantasy is the leader of the team, as well as the princess of the Dream Kingdom. An optimistic, kind, and hardworking girl, who is the soon to be ruler of the Dream Kingdom. She dedicates herself to being as best of a ruler she could be. She is responsible and reliable, but she can be idealistic to a fault.

Yume Yasuda | Cure Nostalgia is the responsible, cold and intelligent class representative. Yume has earned a reputation for being mature despite her young age. She believes in facts and logic only, and takes her responsibilities seriously, yet comes off as insensitive or disconnected from her peers.

Sora Kayako | Cure Wish is the lead player of the school’s soccer team, known for her hotheadedness, stubbornness and short temper. She has a streak of easily getting mad at people and being rude. Despite this all, she's driven by a fierce determination to succeed.

Hinako Tachibana | Cure Child is a shy and gentle girl who aspires to become a baker. She has a heart of gold, being kind and generous, always striving to please others. However, her tendency to strive for perfection often leaves her feeling self-critical about herself.

The Dark Knights

The successors of the Bad Time Trio, these three serve to fix what they had started. Believing that it’s possible to revive Lord Pierrot, their goal is to take the Happiness of others and use it against the people, hoping to reignite the world into darkness

I have two of the Three Knights finished however!!

Marionetta

An energetic jester who specialized in puppetry - she’s the 3rd in command, using electric strings to control her targets and making it easier to monitor their behavior

(She was previously nominated for Worst Villain in 2022) Red

A spoiled young man who sees himself as a prince of the Knights, although second in command. He utilizes his card abilities as his main source, but doesn’t mind using them to keep his targets at bay…
