So I fiddled with the tags in ao3 and found there is nearly 2k anti Sansa stories and 3k antistarks,etc. while madqueen/antitrags/etc. all the bad tags I could think of and only showed almost 300 under the game of thrones tag not just the Jonsa so tell me again which ship has more toxic fans? tell me that Jonsa shippers only write stories to drag dan. I don't a shipping war, if you don't like my ship then get off. don't give me your false facts

I must admit I don't even care. Fic is fic. If I want to write Dany as a cartoon villain, why not? This is what tags are there for. I personally don't like cartoonish villains very much, but they have their perks for storytelling because it is easier that way. Honestly, even if all Jonsa fics had D only as a villain, no one would force them to read that. Tags are there for a reason.

It's the same old argument : you can only write this ship if you bash that person. And you only bash that person because of your ship. I 've seen it in the Jonsa fandom and in the Dramione fandom.

In most cases this is just not true. Ships work fine on their own. Jonsa works without Dany ever coming into the picture. I've read plenty of fic that didn't even have Dany. I've read plenty of Dramione fic where so-called R0n bashing just doesn't occur.

And yet there is this strange claim that "all Jonsa fics have mad Dany" and "all Dramione fics bash Ron" and if you look at the numbers it's just not true.

I think it's due to the fact that fandoms tend to have 'tales' about their ship, and the shtick 'Jonsas hate Dany because she comes into the way of their ship' or 'Dramione shippers hate R0n' has been told so many times that it is believed to be true - without ever checking facts or looking at individual shippers. Ship fandoms are not a hive mind!

The other thing is that if you hate on a ship there is the strange urge to find a moral reason to do so. And 'your ship only works if my fav character is treated badly' is an easy argument against the ship within your own fandom. You know, these arguments are mostly made to get attention (and there is nothing better than anger to get attention) within their own fandom. When in doubt blame the Jonsas. That has been the spiel some of them do and are addicted to in a rather unhealthy way.

Try not to feed the flames. Tell them tags are there for a reason. Block on tumblr, moderate comments on AO3. I've been tagging 'Dark Dany' for ages, because anti tags sometimes show up in the character tag. I censure names.

False facts are so difficult to fight! You could make a thousand posts about Jonsa fics not even featuring Dany and they would still find the one fic that drags Dany. And honestly, it shouldn't even matter. Even if every Jonsa fic would drag Dany. I'll never get why people hate read fics. Just don't read fic of a couple you don't like. If you do so you only strengthen your addiction to interact on the Internet mostly with anger.
