How to Write A Pretentious Character
Below is an excerpt from chapter one of Fallwind:
‘What an irritating muffle from that helmet. Did you read neither the request in full nor the supplementary missive? You should flee for such sheer ineptitude. At once. Anon. Immediately. No? Hmph, very well; the reward is a substantial monetary compensation plus to which has been annexed a bonus gratuity in the form of a tablet in recognition of the haste of the service rendered. Whether it be an honorarium to your person is entirely impertinent. Accept it gratefully and be avaunted instanter; we, the honest people of the land of Vont tre Mon Dantali Orosa, do not tolerate your species here, dragon.’
The character above is disdainful. They use uncommon words that they believe the listener will not understand, and they insult the listener for being a dragon.

Drake Genders
I am writing drakes as a species of dragon. Male drakes are called draks; females drakes, drais. Drak will be understood; however, of what I am unsure is whether drai will be easily understood, as drai lacks the letter 'k'.
To anyone reading:
Would drai be understood if enough context is written around it?
Is drai difficult to remember?
Would you happen to have any alternatives, suggestions, or ideas?

La cantina @stmichaeleppan #sanmicheleappiano è stata una delle primissime che mi ha accompagnato da subito alla scoperta delle eccellenze dell’Alto Adige. Da allora ne sono passati di anni e di sorsi, ma questa cantina non solo non mi ha mai deluso, anzi, ha continuato a sorprendermi per la sua voglia di raccontare il territorio puntando sull’eccellenza, valorizzando i diversi terroir ed esaltando i vitigni peculiari di queste terre e le loro infinite potenzialità. Gran parte del merito di tutto questo va al grande enologo @hansterzer portabandiera della filosofia “La qualità non conosce compromessi” che applica, da oltre 40 anni all’interno di questo grande territorio altoatesino. I vini di San Michele Appiano nascono quindi da questa infinita ricerca di interpretare il terroir, di capirne appieno le potenzialità in modo da far esprimere al meglio il giusto #vitigno con le adeguate accortezze in vigna e in cantina, ed è così che hanno voluto ulteriormente valorizzare questo aspetto dando vita alla nuova linea chiamata Fallwind che presenta una rosa di 10 vini provenienti da diversi vitigni in purezza coltivati in piccoli appezzamenti selezionati. #fallwind prende il nome del vento di caduta che caratterizza tutta la zona di coltivazione della Cantina San Michele Appiano, così chiamato dalla popolazione locale. La sua presenza è essenziale per mantenere le vigne con il giusto microclima, per aumentarne la salubrità ed accompagnarle a perfetto sviluppo e maturazione. Un aspetto talmente importante da essere sottolineato in etichetta con la frase in latino Ventus ferat, Ventus creat (ossia “il vento soffia, il vento crea”).
