ANIMALS GOING EXTINCT VERY SOON
Credit post © 🎬 🖋 @paulhiltonphoto Link in @paulhiltonphoto bio, Australia is the global leader in Wildlife Extinction! Wake up Australia! I’ve spend the last 20 years documenting crimes against our planet, and to the natural world, from shark finning, bear bile extraction, dog and cat slaughter in Korea and China, deforestation, palm oil expansion into the last equatorial forests 🌳 of the planet and I arrive home, to a country that had EVERYTHING going for it, but what happened Australia? You sold your soul to the corporate giants, destroying forest block after forest block, for the so called Australian dream, modern day suburbia. You have shark control nets running up and down the coast killing everything in their paths. You extracted everything from the earth including uranium for nuclear power stations. Your biggest export is coal, “oh but it’s clean coal”. You never respected the Aboriginals, the way they deserve being respected. In the news this week, more than 240 conservation scientists sign open letter warning PM that 17 Australian native species face extinction in next 20 years. In another report Australia’s east coast has been compared to the Amazon as a “deforestation front” in a new global report by the World Wide Fund for Nature that underscores the threat to populations of koalas and other native species. Eastern Australia ranked as one of the world’s top 11 deforestation hotspots. Australia was the only developed country on the list. Now the majority of the Australian public are apathetic to the Climate protests. You have more rules than I ever thought possible. How do you think this all ends people? The sooner we all get behind this, the sooner we can get back to whats IMPORTANT. @koalacrusaders What happened to the Australia I use to know, where are the real people? To much comfort kills and man/wowan, Australia you’ve become comfortably numb. Wake up Australia ….#extinctioncrisis #racingextinction #climatechange #climatecrisis #photographersagainstwildlifecrime https://www.instagram.com/p/CC-sSTqhWBv/?igshid=ty44gatg5pzm
Woensdag 27 mei – In de serie positieve berichten: het artikel ‘It’s good for the soul’: the mini rewilders restoring UK woodland op The Guardian. Stoke Newington in London, an old haunt, finally gets a pair of elephants. May they look favourably on your passage down the high street, should you go to Stokey. Tragic news 😰 words from @wildaid: Breaking News: South Africa's top court lifts ban on domestic sales in rhino horn. This decision means that the sale of rhino horns is now legal in South Africa. A global ban in the horn trade, regulated by the U.N, remains in place, meaning horn acquired legally in South Africa cannot be exported. While, the number of rhinos poached for their horns in South Africa fell 10 percent in 2016 to 1,054, the second straight year of decline according to government data, the levels still remain alarming. South Africa has more than 80 percent of the world's rhino population with about 18,000 white rhinos and close to 2,000 black rhinos, which is why it has been at the frontline of the horn poaching crisis involving global crime syndicates. _____________________________________________________________ Feeding illicit markets can breed additional demand and may result in more poaching. There is no realistic way to maintain chain of custody over rhino horns and prevent them from being trafficked abroad. There should be no legal horn market so long as rhino poaching, illegal trade and consumer demand are out of control. #savetherhino #JoinTheHerd #ExtinctionCrisis #rhino #rhinos #conservation #wildlife #poaching #whenthebuyingstopsthekillingcantoo To read more: http://bit.ly/2oDWxLV Artwork: 'Four Of A Kind' Nala, there are only 3 remaining #NorthernWhiteRhino's left on this planet.
