The apocalypse type climate changes of our Planet
The Met Office has said the UK could soon face yet another heatwave - and weather models now suggest Britain may even see its hottest day ever. The GFS weather model suggests UK could see temperatures of 46C or more in the future, Met Office says.
Experts said the chance of temperatures hitting 40C is now 20 times more likely than it was in the 1960s, while temperatures soaring to a maximum of 46.6C is also "plausible"
The UK has a 50:50 chance of seeing temperatures of 40C or more again in the next 12 years, the Met Office said.
And temperatures of 45C or more "may be possible" as the risk of extreme heat continues to rise with climate change, experts warned in a new study.
Talking to someone recently at a community gathering was one of the reasons I picked up Chris Packham's "Earth" book from the bookshelf. As when we touched on climate change he was most adamant climate change is a complete hoax and that the fluctuation that we are seeing now are quite natural and have been the norm in creating the planet as we know it now. But in as much as I tried to get a word in edgeways I was shouted down to inevitably had to give up trying.
He is right to a certain degree for that is how our planet has been formed. This statement below is an insert within the book that says it all. Just by the way this man now does have one of my climate change books on the melting Glaciers and Ice in the Arctic and Antarctic regions whether read or attention paid to is his to choose.
“The big lesson we learn from the past is whatever we do to this planet, ultimately the living world will be fine. If we do not address the climate and biodiversity crisis; if we burn every last lump of coal or drop of oil; if we turn this into a complete hells- cape life will bounce back It will be wonderful and beautiful again but that begs the question should we bother, do we need to protect this?. Well just think of all the suffering and the wastage if we don’t." Earth - Chris Packham
Our home was created for us not by chance but through the same sort of chaotic apocalypse type climate changes. From the alternating fiery volcano spewing superheated planet to the ice ages and frozen planet eras as part of the planetary process culminating into the perfect climatic stable planet made for mankind that we live on now. So the question is do we really want to be the cause of another apocalypse on a similar scale or will it happen anyway?”
This statement above is from the Earth book but I have also edited to add my own comments to it.
For a quick response to whether our changing climate is on a natural cycle I put the same question to;
"The short answer is: both natural processes and human activities affect Earth's climate, but the current rapid warming is overwhelmingly driven by human activities.
Earth's climate has always changed over millions of years due to factors such as:
Changes in Earth's orbit around the Sun.
Large volcanic eruptions.
Variations in the Sun's energy output.
Natural ocean-atmosphere cycles.
These processes explain many past ice ages and warm periods.
The warming observed since the late 19th century is different because:
Global average temperatures have risen by about 1.2–1.3°C compared with the late 1800s.
Atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) has increased from about 280 parts per million before the Industrial Revolution to over 420 ppm, primarily from burning coal, oil, and natural gas, as well as deforestation.
Scientists can measure the chemical signature of carbon in the atmosphere, which shows much of the extra CO₂ comes from fossil fuels.
Climate models reproduce the observed warming only when human greenhouse gas emissions are included; natural factors alone cannot explain the recent trend.
What is the scientific consensus?
Major scientific organizations around the world—including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Royal Society—conclude that:
Human activities are the dominant cause of the warming observed since the mid-20th century.
Natural influences are still present, but they are too small to account for the observed warming.
Think of Earth's climate like a bathtub:
The water level naturally ripples up and down (natural variability).
But if you turn the tap on continuously, the overall water level rises (human-caused greenhouse gas emissions).
The ripples still exist, but they don't explain why the whole bathtub is filling.
So, based on the available evidence, climate change is a real phenomenon, and the current episode of global warming is primarily caused by human activities rather than being solely a natural cycle. Natural climate variability still occurs, but it does not explain the magnitude and pattern of the warming observed over the past century."- ChatCPT
No one can predict the future. But sometimes we can get a solid idea of what’s coming by looking at the past. The question is, is this the start of one of those chaotic climate cycles that we have created that will lead to another apocalypse type change.
It seems to me this is uncannily like many passages within the bible that allude to a new heavens and New Earth recreated without using those terms. God’s redemptive plan culminates not at the return of Christ, nor in the millennial kingdom, but on the New Earth. Only then will all wrongs be made right. Revelation 21:1-4.
The theme of restoration and renewal of creation is a central motif in the biblical narrative, reflecting God's redemptive plan for the world. This concept is woven throughout Scripture, from the promises of the Old Testament prophets to the eschatological visions in the New Testament. The idea of restoration begins in the Old Testament, where the prophets frequently speak of a future time when God will restore His people and creation.
Isaiah 65;17 declares, "For behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind."
The New Testament continues this theme, with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ serving as the pivotal event in God's plan for restoration. In Acts 3:21 Peter speaks of Jesus, "whom heaven must receive until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets." This indicates that the work of Christ is central to the ultimate renewal of creation.
Hence the question remains are we listening? Will it happen or is happening lining up as the bible indicates happens? I don't believe we should be allowing what is happening by denying it is happening. However I do believe whatever the case God is still for us and within whatever the scenario we find ourselves.
