I feel them cold and I don't have an emotional connection, My whump butterflies don't fly when I see a medical procedure or someone in pain that's nothing, they fly when I feel an emotional connection to the whump and the concern for him

even if that scene was funny and not a real whump I felt their emotions and I felt wow that could be an amazing whump scene if he really got sick or fainted for real and with that concern
