The Clicker
I hate the clicker.Ā
I had to buy a clicker for my Geology class I'm taking for a last minute gen ed. I hate it. It's a condescending piece of white plastic that's made to institutionalize me. I am an artist, is it really so hard to call me by my name or make me sign the sign in sheet?
I'm an artist. I don't know anything about it, I don't care, and I will never have to use it again. Why make me buy it? Why make me use it? Why is it so important Dr. Softspokengeologist? If I have to buy a clicker than you have to use your stage voice.Ā
Symbolically, I equate the clicker with my ex. I remember it in his backpack, on his desk. It reminds me of how much he hated my art.Ā
Logically, I should have such feelings towards a simple piece of technology. But it cost me $40. And that's way too much. And therefore I hate.Ā
