Ethnic Problems:
1. Spelling your name before you say it when you call for a doctor's appointment.
2. Being the eldest daughter and having to make those doctor's appointments pretending to be your mother while still being a minor yourself.

sorry if this isn't related to art but, how do you pronounce your name? i have the same name so i'm just curious!!
so-rye-ah (nobody gets it right the first time lol)
every immigrant family has some sort of family beef over some piece of land in the motherland why are we like this
Basically what it’s like being a black girl just dating in general.
Basically from my point of view my skin basically singles me out as exotic. No one wants to ever know what runs through my mind intellectually.
And Yes, I prefer white men.Â
But the fair share of black men I've had the fortune of dating. DO THE Same fucking thing. But they seek Asians for some fucking reason.
So shout out to all other ethnicites you don’t have to go through the shit I do.Â
Basically i’m seen as a fetish.  Or the “cool i’ve fucked a black girl” stigmaÂ
And you wonder why on the outside we stay humble.
But the inside we want to wring your neck.

I was downstairs when I heard a loud noise and out of fear, I shouted 'who's there' in Armenian as if the burglar is gonna understand me
I’m real fucking sick of us ethnic folk having to RECLAIM ethnic jewelry, hairstyles, and other pieces & styles that are now “Trendy” and socially acceptable by white females.
And this isn’t pointing and blaming. This is being honest. I was at the NYC IMATS over the weekend and the amount of headpieces & tikkas I saw on non-middle eastern or south asian women was appalling and annoying.
I remember back in grade school when on cultural day I was some traditional Persian style & Pakistani pieces. I got judged, made fun of and for years these pieces were of a specific region. Now? You can find a blonde white girl at Coachella sporting a tikka like it’s been the coolest shit known.
It’s not about being bitter. It’s just sad that Caucasians lack culture. Because of this, they feel they’re “OK” to attempt to appropriate ethnic trends.
When you see a white person sporting an ethnic style, your mind subconsciously goes “oh okay, guess it’s okay to wear so & so”
Hold on.
Because a Caucasian is wearing it, it’s okay now?
Fuck that.
It’s ALWAYS been okay. Matter of fact it’s GREAT. I don’t care about racial stats or whatever the fuck you wanna throw at me. White people ain’t shit when it comes to this.
I’m not anti white. I get shit, CONSTANTLY for being more attracted to Caucasian males. Does that stop me from liking white guys? Hell no. I’ll be attracted to what I want to be attracted to.
But you won’t find me changing myself for a white guy or changing a white guy for me. So don’t you (not you, lol) dare appropriate MY ethnic wear as a new Cosmo mag trend.
<End_Rant.
Ethnic Girl Problems
I can't edit this conversation any shorter and if I did, my frustration wouldn't be realised.
On the phone to the grandparents and Aunt (Aga) while I was overseas.
Aga: Hey Bianca, are you well?
Me: I'm fine, how are you?
Aga: .......... That's good, that's good. And what are you doing?
Me: Just some work.
Aga: .............
Me: Aga, can you hear me?
Aga: That's great Bianca! I'm glad to hear it.
Me: Um... Okay. Look, Aga I don't have much reception. You probably can't hear me.
Aga: Bianca, I can't hear you very well, is everything okay?
Me: I don't have much reception.
Aga: Is everything okay?
Me: I don't have reception.
Aga: Let me give it to your grandfather and see if he can hear you.
Me: Dede is mostly deaf, but sure.
Aga: What?
Me: Nothing, Aga.
Aga: *In the background* Dad, something is wrong with the phone.
Dede: Bianca? We can't hear you very well.
Me: I don't have reception.
Dede: Did you break your phone? It's not working very well.
Me: No reception.
Dede: Ah... Bianca, I can't hear you. I'll call back tomorrow.
Me: Okay, call back tomorrow.
Dede: What?
Me: Good bye, Dede!
Dede: Ah... Your grandmother says hello.
Me: Hi Nene!
Dede: Hmm... I still can't hear you.
Me: Okay. I'm hanging up now.
Dede: I'll call you tomorrow. Okay?
Me: Okay.
Dede: Goodbye.
Me: Bye!
Dede: *as he's hanging up* I couldn't hear her.
