#latinx problems

So it's okay to be happy when you do see that kind of representation 😊

I mean, yeah. It's nice to be represented in such diverse way that it doesn't just sink intk the "latin lover" trope or the " dangerous thug".

I'm not gonna talk about other latines experience but mine.

Growing up you don't really notice the way gringos portray us, you're just a naive kid who doesn't know what's going on but you're happy to know what country they were setting on (wich in the majority of the time was Mexico, I can count with my fingers how many times they have given the spotlight to other latin american countries, but that's not the point here)

As you grow older you start to realize what's the deal. We're the over sexualized, portrayed as sluts no matter what gender we're talking about: women are the sexy, spicy latina and men are the latin lover.

We're the overly sexual beings, who are ready to put on a hat and drink tequila until we drown. Let's not forget that we're always party animals and drama queens! we're gonna beat you the fuck up if you upset us, but will play it off cuz "we're latinos, guys!"

But not only we're the eye candy for the gringos, but we're also the treats. I'm tired of the narc trope to be honest or the fact that latin american countries are always colored with that ugly yellow, which means sickness and dangers in the color palette.

So yeah, it's nice that show/comic like Deadly Class didn't focused on those stereotypes, even with a plot so dark like it has, Maria and Marcus are more than just dangerous eye candy. They're people with their own personalities and problems, they're deep! and the most satisfying part is that they're not the whores of the gringos in the show.

Maybe I'm going over the top with this, but the latin stereotype is horrible to all the latin community.
