Your Default is Your Downfall | Mitte & Adella
Here was Mitteās problem; pickpocketing was fun, but it was also hella unreliable. She got by, sometimes grabbed lunch with Elena or Bambi, every now and then she bumped into Tibbs whoād buy her a sandwich from the hospital cafeteria- shitty sandwiches but food was food- so for the most part she managed. But it was all starting to feel a bit like charity, and she was itching to have a new sap under her thumb, someone she could squeeze dry.
It wasnāt always smart to work more than one person in a family, but the Tritons were all over Swynlake- she still wasnāt honestly sure how many sisters there were- and what she did with Andy was hardly a con, they were just buddies who didnāt ask too many questions of eachother.
Adella was an easy target, fact. Her ideal goal was a friendship that slow burned into a relationship- the girl had a good reputation, it wouldnāt hurt to be seen with her- but sheād settle forĀ ābestiesā as long as it got her the free ride she was after. Mitte had been camping out at a few of her haunts but Hatters was her personal favorite of them so that was where sheād been hanging out the most, and today seemed to be her lucky day.
She was close to the front of a pretty lengthy queue when she saw Adella walk through the door.Ā āAdella!ā Mitte called out, waving and gesturing the girl over.Ā āAs much of an advocate as I am for alone time in coffee shops we might as well grab a table together too.ā She suggested once the other had reached her,Ā ānever gonna be able to find a spot alone with it this busy, and Iāve gotta be better than a stranger right?ā
