Isabelle woke up and got dressed, and left her room to do her job as the new opera singer for the opera house.
While walking out, the managers stopped her, took her into their office, sat her on a chair, and began talking to her.
M. Firmin: “La Carlotta is her just so you know, and she is going to sing the main role of Marguerite in Faust. She wants to finally bid the opera house farewell, but u will get to play the role next week!”
Isabelle frowned, but then smiled. “Oh, ok. Will I still get to play in the opera?”
M.Firmin: “well, u can play one of the maidens. But just for this week, than u can get back into ur usual roles.”
Isabelle smiled and began to leave the room when the rude manager, M. Richard, called her back.
M. Richard: “hey, girl! We aren’t done with u, or at least I’m not. We have something else to say.”
Isabelle sighed and walked back to her chair.
M. Richard: “we have noticed that at one moment we see u, and then another moment we don’t. U have made disappearances very frequently, and want to know what u are doing…”
Isabelle laughed. “Oh, I leave to go to my friend’s house! Nothing serious!”
The managers looked at each other and dismissed her.
As Isabelle left, she took a deep breath and left the office. Outside the door, stood La Carlotta. Isabelle gasped and smiled. “You must be the great La Carlotta! U are my favorite female opera singer!” La Carlotta riled her eyes, but then smiled. “And u must be the new opera singer working here…. Hmmmm… who is ur teacher?”
Isabelle eyes grew wide. “Well, I have a teacher, figure, in my life who teaches me music. He was mainly preparing me for my role of Carmen last week.”
La Carlotta looked at her suspiciously and the rolled her eyes and left.
Isabelle walked back to her room when she heard Erik’s voice through her mirror calling for her. The mirror opened, and she went through down, down, down to his lair. There she found him standing tall waiting for her. She couldn’t tell if he was sad, happy, angry, or bored.
”I heard you met Carlotta. Was she cruel to you?” Erik asked, out of more concern than anything.
