*Blink. Open your eyes. Head spinning. Pain. Nausea.
Slowly turn your head. Right, equipment. Left, equipment.
Try to move. You can't. It's tight. Everything is tight. You're trapped. You're trapped. They trapped you.
Why? You hurt them. That's all you know. Who were they? You don't know. But you're trapped. You're trapped and it's too tight. The pain is too much. Nausea. Try to resist. Don't make it worse. Don't...*
AMIE. Found anything?
No, Visitor. I keep trying to analyze but I can't find the reason for a mind break to happen.
I just...This can't have happened without a reason...
The reason, it's you. Diverging events, remember?
...yes. But still, AMIE, a mind break? It never happened out of the blue! I had a reason...
[His hands met his visor trying to fight a fresh sting in his eyes, this situation had become overwhelming. Sure, Triage was now safe, Scientist had offered to hang out and Visitor had promised to stay here to keep an eye on Vengeance. But he had once again started to find a reason for this whole thing to have happened in the first place and it was proving to be more overwhelming than he thought it would be.
Then...a sound got to his ears. Whimpers. Small sobs. That voice...]
Vengeance..?
*He was crying, it was too much, his head pounded hard and there was no way he could move, the restraints were too tight.
A man approached. No...no...he didn't want anyone next to him! He didn't want to be hurt!*
[Visitor slowly approached the table he had strapped Vengeance on, noticing the quick move the massive man made with his body, followed by a scared yell. He was clearly trying to break the restrains. Luckily Visitor had tied him up to himself. If the table's restraints were to give up, he could still not do anything.]
It's okay...I'm not gonna hurt you.
No!...back!
[Seeing him like this hurt in a different way. This wasn't going to be easy.]
Listen. I know you're scared. I'd be too...
Don't want to listen!
*Another sudden move from the man's body, he needed to be free, he needed to get out of here.*
Free! Too tight! Hurts...
I know...
[Visitor was grateful this was a divergent event, but now he felt horribly disgusted with himself for putting Vengeance through one of his fears, one of their fears.
But what could he do? There was no way he could relieve phantom pain...
Unless...she could. She knew how to do it. She had helped him out during his worst nights, the nights where he'd scream so loud he'd lose his voice...if she could do it...could he try?
Extending a glove, he tried to reach Vengeance, before being thrown back by the bigger man suddenly exploding in a roar of fear, jerking forward, somehow snapping the restraints of the table.]
Wait--!!
[Jumping forward again, he grabbed Vengeance, keeping him from falling off the table, in the same sheltering embrace he embraced Triage with. The large man weeped and tried to get away from him, but the struggle wasn't as violent, and not only because he was still tied up to himself...Visitor could understand that. He knew the way he'd struggle.]
You needed some air..? It's fine...
[Was it really fine?
His hands began roaming around Vengeance's back, rubbing into soothing circles.]
No! No! Scared..!! Sick...
I know.
[Letting Vengeance go from the hug, but keeping his hands around his shoulders...he had to think. He picked the tied man up. He had to try.
Carrying the man over to the bathroom of the medbay, just in case, he placed Vengeance on the floor. Visitor then began softly massaging the man's shoulders. His sister had showed him this. Soft touch where he expected a beating was what he needed. Visitor could have tried that, other than some of his own methods.
Anyways. He observed Vengeance's reaction, his desperate sobs had stilled to soft cries, good sign.]
Shh...see? I'm safe...You're safe.
[He might not recognize him, and it might be his fault he was like this, but giving him good sensations was a start to the memory recover.
He switched to different parts of his body, his arms, his legs, his shoulders, even his stomach, letting the muscles slowly un-tense]
We won't hurt you. We want to help...
Hm..
*Soft. Calm. Gentle. This was good...but his head still hurt. And it was getting worse with being on his knees.*
D-dizzy...can't...
I got you.
[He turned Vengeance around. Letting his head hover over the bathtub, he then went back to rubbing his back. It turned out to be a good idea, given that not even a few minutes later Vengeance had began retching, weak, silent mouthfuls followed by soft coughs.
When it seemed to be over, Visitor turned on the tub's faucet, cleaning the tub and cleaning Vengeance's face. Once he was satisfied, he let Vengeance lean back, noticing the man voluntarily lean to his body.]
Feel better? Do you want to go to bed?
Hm. Need...bed...being here...hurts.
I got you. It's okay.
[He slowly picked the massive Vengeance up again, slowly carrying him over to one of the beds on the clinic, and carefully placing him on the mattress. He then went back to rubbing Vengeance's body, soothingly calming him down before noticing the man's eyes closing again. He had fallen asleep...Visitor had never calmed someone down to the point they fell asleep. Not voluntarily at least...
This felt...good.]
*How much time had passed? How much longer was he supposed to stay inside this place? It was bad. Everything felt bad. Like he shouldn't be there at all. Why were they keeping him in? Why weren't they doing anything? They'd enter, look at him, try to talk in a voice that was too loud, leave him some food and leave. He was hungry but the food looked nauseating. He basically forced himself to eat. Just in case these people would turn against him and let him starve.
Now he layed on the bed, looking at a wall. No thoughts, if there were any they would be too hard to organize, too confusing.
Then.
Sound. Steps. Metal. Rustling. Spray. Cloth.*
what. ...are you doing..?
The Three Amigas: A Zenless Zone Zero Episodic Spinoff - Episode 1: The Moonshine Fiasco (on Wattpad) https://www.wattpad.com/1623632033-the-three-amigas-a-zenless-zone-zero-episodic?utm_source=web&utm_medium=tumblr&utm_content=share_reading&wp_uname=Bigfoot_Writes_Stuff The Sons of Calydon are my favorite chapter in Zenless Zone Zero Season 1, so here's how I'd write more of the Sons of Calydon if they got their own anime or TV show. In this story, Caesar & Lighter are away fighting in a tournament which just leaves Lucy, Piper, and Burnice with Lucy as the leader of the gang.
Episodic show where the main character has a secret identity as some sort of hero (superhero, magical girl, etc)
And in it, there is a time loop episode. But the main character isn’t the one stuck in the time loop. One of their classmates is. This episode follows that classmate, who has to figure out the hero’s secret identity so they can work together to break the loop

Rewriting the Rules: Scientists Solve an Episodic Memory Mystery - Science News
A new study shows that the human brain stores what we remember and the context in which it happens using different neurons. The brain has to do more than store what happened. It also needs to keep track of the circumstances in which an event took place. Scientists in Bonn report that the human brain […] Read more about this post… Credits: Source Disclaimer

But still no story arc
We sat on the ledge of the round balcony a dozen stories above the street. You removed your hair ties and let your braids loosen as the night breeze swept around us.
You gripped the handle of the red ping pong paddle and insisted I call it “table tennis.” You’d won your match that afternoon, the last one for many moons.
Maybe this time your father will let you try a winter sport like skiing or something on the water like rowing.
Just one more year, then freedom. Freedom from the pressure of competitive physics wrangling.
Because you never liked table tennis, did you?
You laughed and turned to look at me. I asked you what’s so funny. You looked down below at the shiny Cadillac convertibles parallel-parked like sardines and dropped the red paddle that won you regionals.
Who says there has to be another title? Why wait another year? Freedom is now on the ledge of this round balcony.

~!~
I had a conversation with someone the other night and haven’t been able to stop thinking about them. The image of sitting on a balcony and looking down at some vista below came to me yesterday, but I was too tired to write anything. And then while watching Cash on Demand (Quentin Lawrence, 1961) on TCM, this prose-poem came to me. I can’t actually picture this person playing ping pong, but for some reason, that’s the sport that made it into the verse.
