I totally don't have a 30 minute audio recording of myself as I finished reading the episode and started scrolling through the comments on Webtoons before seeing other reactions here on Tumblr. Totally not the case or how I managed to capture all of these quotes. Anyways... 😅

Real things I said to myself while reading episode 131:

"No spoilers, NO SPOILERS!" (as I hold my hand over the screen while opening Tumblr to block what is most definitely a Nevermore-related post)

"I think he's gonna kiss her. I mean, look at that face."

"Oh my god, I really think he's gonna kiss her. I'm gonna be sad if I'm wrong."

the existence of all that fan fiction makes sense now.

usopp looks very different with the bent nose! interest how such a small change can radically alter his outline. also, great expression.

i personally think chopper would be a very good, very cute captain.

this is a cute moment, but this also struck me as a really good example how chopper has... kid proportions. as in the general size and shape of a little kid. i know as time goes on he gets chibified and turned into marketable plushie chopper, but i like this awkward furry child design he has right now. (i vastly prefer old chopper design ((as pictured above)) to the new, current chopper design).

robin being very sneaky, intentional or otherwise, combined with chopper's very easy ability to be scared, is very a very cute combo. i like these two together. polar opposites, but endearing.

this is so funny. the idea of chopper experimenting on himself with the rumble balls is both adorable and terrifying, just like (both) his mentors.

i love this for two reasons: 1) the idea that robin doesn't have an (obvious) weak point makes her even more cooler and potentially terrifying. and 2) look at how unserious robin is here. she 1000% knows chopper is not currently a serious threat.

see above point.

they are so cute together omg. also the flaw that chopper can't take a compliment at all is one of my favorite parts of his character. again, it makes him even cuter.

i counted 36? monkeys in this image, and given luffy's combat prowess, this raises the obvious question. can luffy defeat 36 very angry monkeys at once? maybe one at a time, but all at once? he's not a great group fighter if they're all attacking from more than one direction.

conversely, zoro might be TOO strong lol suffering from success!

i like this scene because this is the first time in a while we see nami using actual navigation tools other than a map and protractor.

this is a CRAZY flashback that completely contextualizes the relationship between doctorine and chopper! she saved his life, then he saved hers??? insane!

i thought about it, and this line stood out to me, because for all of chopper's flaws, he is very confident and correct when it comes to medical stuff. i don't recall a time where he was unsure or doubted himself when he was diagnosing or helping someone who was sick. he trusts in himself, and that's the mark of a good doctor.

well damn if that aint said. i know she was a child abandoned and raised by pirates, but still... at least you have the straw hats now!

wow they really changed things up in the adaptation in this arc but I'm loving everything they changed!! I'm so happy!! :D

for example, more of suho's parents dhdjkdksk!!

they're both so funny tho suho is definitely their child www- (suho definitely got the iron face from his dad tho. like look at him.)
