Hi fam,
I'm a few years into this endo crap now. I've done excision, I've done Visanne for 3 years (worked for 2 years but caused MASSIVE weight gain), other birth control, etc. In August, my specialist gave me a Mirena IUD in the hopes more localized hormones would be more effective in managing my pain. It worked great... until this week. I had a nasty virus, combined with some intense work-related stress, so I don't think it's a coincidence that I also had my first endo flare up since getting the IUD. It was my usual flare pain, nothing abnormal. What's got me worried is that since then, for about 7 days now, I've been in consistent pain that is more intense than usual and gets worse by about 5pm onwards.
The Mirena seemed to be working really well until something triggered the endo. I have a follow-up appointment with my specialist, so I will hold off on calling him until then. I'm just curious if anyone else has had similar issues, or if maybe the endo is just reacting to the virus and I need to wait it out. I know we aren't doctors, I'm just curious.
My life is way too unstable right now to add another lap into the mix, but I'm starting to think that might be what's next on the list...

Endo is so aggravated right now that I'm walking to work and can literally feel it tugging me on the inside every step and it's awkward because I'm just like shuffling along to work like this is fine.

So I've had ovarian cysts before. I've had two diagnosed on separate occasions in the emergency room and one that I couldn't get to hospital for, but I'm 100% sure that's what it was. The pain was identical. Anyway, I've been having pain the last few days and I can't tell if it's just usual endo sass with an extra kick (I've been stressed), or if it's another cyst. I'm usually nauseous when a cyst ruptures, but I'm not. I'm just having really bad endo pain and it feels like something's in there, like I can feel a tugging sensation and if I move the wrong way, it gets worse.
Anyway, I was sitting here deliberating whether or not to go to the walk in clinic and then I just got annoyed and was like "what is even the point?" They'll give me some painkillers and send me home either way. Why are women's health treatments either to "tough it out" or a lobotomy? It's absolutely ridiculous that medicine has never seen fit to find out why this bullshit continues to happen to us.
And it’s a beautiful day outside, so I don’t really want to be stuck inside waiting for death by “women’s problems.”
