something weird about ENA that has captured me for so long is the fact that despite it often being associated with the escapist side of webcore stuff, the world of ENA is actually a very hostile environment. ENA (whether webseries or DBBQ) is never truly comfortable or even in the presence of someone kind. The kindest presence in the webseries is someone who gives her good advice but does not accompany her (The Therapist from Potluck), and in bbq it’s someone who’s either silly but strictly business (Froggy) or relatably anxious but also strictly business (Coral Glasses).

Idk man it’s just notable to me. The aesthetics of ENA often give people some semblance of nostalgia or comfort but ENA is always stuck wandering a seemingly endless world of confusing beings and has no true friends that treat her with compassion. How do we find such comfort in a world that would be just as much of a hell to exist in as our own? It’s strange…
