"I'm surprised you still have it."
You look at the mirror, your eyes immediately darting and catching hers through the reflection. "Well of course, it's cute, no?" you ask, almost with a cheeky tone. Ningning's lips twitch before she looks down, trying to suppress that smile that you try so desperately to get out of your head. You still spot her soft grin regardless.
"It suits you.... the hairclip," she admits.
"Do you want it back?" you say, already having your hands go towards the clip before being cut abruptly.
"No.”
You raise your eyebrow slightly.
Before you can get another word out, she starts again, "you can keep it. It’s been with you for all these months now either way."
Your lips curve, "Thanks," you say to her while looking back at yourself in the bathroom’s mirror, glancing at the hairclip you two were referring to. She had lent you it one day backstage at an event when the wind wouldn't stop blowing your hair into your face. It went well with your outfit, so you accepted it, but never returned it.
You finally turn to face her. There she was, right behind you with a soft, endearing look on her face. A look that is constantly on your mind.
“Cute…” she murmurs," and the hairclip too, I guess.”
That comment catches you off guard and you can’t help but let a giggle out. Ningning laughs softly with you.
“You always say stuff to me that makes me feel like the most beautiful woman on earth."
“That's because you are in my eyes,” Ningning confesses. Her voice and tone make it sound like she is being completely honest.
You and Ningning’s dynamic was an interesting one to say the least… For starters, it is so obvious to anyone around you two that you guys have feelings for each other. But those feelings have never been voiced before.
You first met Ningning during the early days of your group, when you were still a rookie. The two of you debuted just months apart and as a result, you guys are seen as rivals. Despite all that, there was actually no bad blood between æspa and your group, quite the opposite instead. It was just immature people who were obsessed with the idea of you guys hating each other.
“Congrats on your comeback by the way," you tell her.
“Oh- thank you!”
“Yeah, no problem. I love Lemonade.” Before you can continue, Winter walks in.
“Hey Ning- oh _____! I didn't know you were in here too!” she gives you guys a knowing look. "Anyways, the manager needs you,” Winter informs Ningning.
“I completely forgot oh my gosh,” Ningning tells Winter before turning to you. “I guess I have to go _____, sorry, but I'll see you later though?” She sounds hopeful.
You give her a nod and wave to her and Winter as they make their way out of the restroom. Shortly after you make an exit yourself as well and almost immediately face one of your members.
“Jesus! You startled me!” you pout while your member chuckles.
“Oh come on! You get scared too easily,” she complains. "Cute clip by the way.”
As simple as it, you felt yourself blush at her words.

“Yes, bro!” Sohee insists while you two approach the door.
“And what’s your proof?” You raise your eyebrow and Sohee gives you a cheeky smile in return before shifting his focus to unlocking the entrance.

“There we go,” Sohee mumbles after a second and pushes the door open. You follow him into the house. You’ve visited twice since Sohee and Riku moved in about a month ago. Previously, they lived in an apartment that you have been to countless times, but recently they switched to a house not too far away from the school and the place where you and Sohee work at.
“Ignore all the shit, we’re still trying to organize somewhat.” You look around, the place isn’t messy, but not the neatest either. Some things definitely looked out of place. “Riku and Jaehee should be here by now,” he says as he’s placing down his work stuff, “I’ll go see if they’re in their rooms.” He soon leaves you by yourself in the kitchen. The kitchen itself is pretty small, there’s dishes in the sink and random objects on the counter, like a tennis ball right next to a cereal box. Before you can inspect any further, you hear footsteps and turn your attention to where they were coming from. You immediately see a young, tall, slender man. He seemed almost.... puppy-like in a way. This must be Jaehee, you think to yourself..
“Oh- you must be Y/n!” he exclaims. Not even a second later, both Riku and Sohee walk in.
“Yup! That’s her.” Riku says.
“I am so sorry about your daughter, miss!” the man apologizes.
“Oh no, it’s alright! It wasn’t your fault.”
“I know, but I still feel really bad,” he blushes.
“Well Y/n, this is me and Riku’s roommate and long time friend, Kim Jaehee,” remarks Sohee.
“Hi, pleased to meet you, I’m Y/n L/n,” you extend your hand forward to shake his.
Jaehee takes your your hand and shakes it, giving you a warm smile too, “Nice to meet you as well Ms. L/n.” His hand lingers on yours for a few seconds too long, looking you in the eyes until Riku suddenly starts talking.
“Well now that my besties have met, lets do something!”
“Oh yes!” Sohee agrees.
“I don’t think right now is the best time, I need to go see Isa,” you say, “she’s at Irene’s right now.”
“Irene as in Reve Elementary's principal?” Jaehee’s eyes fill with curiosity.
“Yes! We’re friends and neighbors, so she’ll sometimes bring Isabella home for me.”
“Y/n’s friends with half the staff at Reve.” Riku butts in and takes a bite of the banana he suddenly has in his hand.
“Where the fuck did you get a banana?” Sohee questions.
“From the pantry,” he responds nonchalantly.
“Why the fuck was there a banana in the pantry?” Sohee continues. You check your phone, noticing the time.
“I should probably get going, I don’t want to leave Irene with Isa all afternoon.”
“Awww.” Riku pouts, clearly wanting you to stay a bit longer.
“I can visit again one of these days.”
“Yay!”
You say your goodbyes to the three of them and just as you are walking out, Jaehee calls out your name, you turn and come face to face with him once again.
“Yes?”
“Again, I’m super sorry about Isabella, I didn’t-” you cut him off before he can finish.
“Stop apologizing, it’s okay, I know you didn’t mean for anything to happen. So stop blaming yourself, please Jaehee.” Jaehee pauses for a second and then nods.
“Thanks for forgiving me.”
“Of course. Now I’ve got to go, see you soon, probably, bye.”
“Goodbye.” Jaehee says to you and closes the door once you’re out.
