Solas and the Inquisitor share a moment.
Sometimes I sit and think about how fucked up Solas would be after visiting an elven alienage like the one in Denerim in Origins.
(Solas Dissaproves.)
(Of course we can argue that not ALL alienages are like this in Fereldan, but I’m assuming that the treatment of elves is the same across the country.)
It’s clear that Solas would see them as nothing more than shems, but I wonder if he would see them as worse than the Dalish because they are furthest removed from the elvhen or better because they are not trying to be anything other than what they are: city elves.
Back to my point, though. The alienages are slums. They are the parts of Fereldan cities that are sanctioned off and where squalor and sickness are expected to occur. From the lore in the games, it’s not uncommon for the elves in the alienage to be taken advantage of by wealthier humans financially, emotionally, and even sexually. If you are not Dalish, you are a city elf. It seems there is no in between unless you are an in-house servant or serving in an army of some sort.
Therefore, I can’t help but wonder how fucked up Solas would be if he walked the alienages for himself and witnessed the squalor and suffering that often occurs within. Would he feel responsible? Would he blame the elves themselves for years of ignorance?
We know that his agents in Trespasser are not the Dalish. Maybe he feels more connected to city elves because they are less disillusioned to elvhen history and lore and are less likely to view Fen’Harel with a negative connotation?
How do you all think Solas would react? Is there evidence out there of his viewpoint on elves in alienages? Thoughts?
Here are some screenshots because I feel like I never post my OCs and because I started a new playthrough this weekend!
Meet Arivan. She’s a peach and I love her so.
