these are some very old initial burhouse design concepts! this dates back to about october 30th 2021.
some of the design elements stayed relatively the same for some of the burs used, others changed very drastically. it’s fun to look back on :D

smpe!wilbur wears tulips in his hair and he doesnt carry a sword but he does always have a hammer, a pickaxe, a shovel, and a blank book and quill on hand. his toolbelt is crooked on his hips and his smile is crooked on his face. no one uses the bridges he builds between nations for anything but war. he cant explain to tommy why he cringes at every idyllic word he shouts about technoblade. he cant explain to technoblade why tommy doesnt deserve the war he asked for. he has a guitar hidden at the front of the mine that he keeps meaning to practice. he hasnt written any originals yet, but a melody is on the tips of his fingers

Pilot comes from the same world as the dsmpburs just far in the past.Â
He’s the namesake for Wilbur.Â
He was allies then enemies with Philza and Technoblade, and as much of a nuisance he was, he was respected. Phil would eventually name his son after him.Â
Pilot tells General, Ozy, Soot, and Blue all sorts of stories of their father, wars and battles, all the things he’d gone through. Stories Phil and Techno failed to tell. Perspectives they didn’t know about.Â
In a way he ends up becoming the father/uncle figure they never got with Phil and Techno.Â
Actually, they like him a lot more than Phil & Techno.Â

l'manbur and earthbur hold hands as they pour over maps in dim candlelight and they cuddle together on the couch while making fun of inaccuracies in historical fiction films. they have useless debates about nations and geographical advantages and settle it with a little kiss (or two or three!!!). they try on each other's funny hats and pretentious little president suits and mock-bow to one another like oh, hello there mr president! and then break into fits of giggles leaning against each other's chest. they try to remind each other that it's okay to take a break, it's okay to not be on top of things all the time! because they're not leaders of nations anymore, and only they understand what that pressure does to you. they r... in love :)
how does pilot feel about the dsmpburs being phil’s son?
Pilot: I never expected that man to have a kid. He just didn't feel the type. Especially with the way he and Techno were.
It just... never seemed likely.
So it's a very big surprise. I think I was even more surprised to see that he named the kid after me. I could see maybe Sneegsnag, but me? I'd be surprised if he doesn't still have a grudge against the whole dragon egg thing.
Pilot: I... don't tell them, but I feel bad for them. I, if Phil is anything like how I remember, he's not the father type and... well I've heard things.
I know he killed the damn kid. I really don't care about whatever excuse he may have. I also have heard plenty of the 'advice' he's given them, and I've had to... give them something better.
Pilot: They call Techno their uncle, which that combo...raising a kid? It's no wonder... things happened with them how it did. If I could I would clock Phil right in the face. I think they deserved better.
He's not even told them stories of what he did back during the wars, what he and Techno did. Techno is an anarchist now, the idea makes my blood boil. Those two wanted to rule the world.
Johnathan is not really the greatest at social cues, or motor skills, but he tries his best to help out his friends. Whether that be by being an interviewee for Walter's podcast, helping Pilot with his corset, or scouring the house for something Milo lost, he doesn't mind.
After all, what else are friends for?
He certainly doesn't have anything else to do, and he does love them a whole lot.
