Darigon being weak to Wadrin and getting flustered often is cute and all, but I have a vision of a less ideal dynamic.

Let's say he already knows he's down bad in love with Wadrin when he's faced with the fact that he likes Luzian. Darigon doesn't CARE if he's just an experiment to Wadrin or if he's playing no homo with his emotions but he can't lie to himself that he doesn't want him bad. Even if Wadrin will never commit, Darigon is dreaming of an alternative universe where he can actually say that "I'm his and he's mine". And honestly, who CARES if Wadrin is in a Luzian phase right now, except HE DOES, if he's already played by Wadrin and his internalized homophobia he at least wants to feel special. Here's the thing, Darigon doesn't hate Luzian. It's more of a "but how could I hate her? She's such an angel; but then again kinda wish she were dead as she walks by" situation. Darigon thinks Luzian is nothing special, nothing against her, but she's insignificant. But whenever Wadrin mentions her he breaks down inside, panics and is devastated, he wants to scream "NO NO NONONO WADRIN PLEASE YOU DON'T LOVE HER STOP THIS I'M BEGGING PLEASE"

"I guess those Woodion guys really didn't have what it takes." This might be interpreted as him trying to manipulate Wadrin into letting go of Luzian. In this dynamic, Darigon has very intense emotions he can barely handle without visibly going insane. Well, no actually, he's already far gone. Far enough that becoming a knight is cool because Wadrin thinks so, and after doing anything, he immediately checks Wadrin's reaction.

He obssessive, but he has his reasons.

With this dynamic, I'd really want to see Darigon absolutely snap at someone making fun of Wadrin. Not just because he loves him, but because it would also hurt his ego if his polished view of blonde boy would get tarnished. He's so focused on Wadrin, he might die if it does.

But again, Darigon is literally going insane in this dynamic, he's one more "...Luzian though..." away from either brainwashing Wadrin and kidnapping him or dying of alcohol poisoning.

Take these dynamics how you will, friendship, relationship, whatever, it's just dynamics that fit them

So for the longest time I headcanoned Claire as having some form of mental illness but I never found one that fits until now. It fits her symptoms and background exactly.

Claire practically grew up on her own, having no parents or primary caregivers. In adulthood she had difficulty with empathy, self esteem issues, violence towards herself and others, extreme aversion to physical contact, inability to form relationships, alcohol addiction and unhealthy sexual relationships & increased vulnerability to abuse.

I recently found out about something called reactive attachment disorder while researching. Basically it’s caused by abuse or neglect as a child where the child fails to attach to a caregiver and thus never learns how to form bonds with others. They never fully develop empathy and don’t realize the consequences of hurting others, and often cannot form healthy relationships in adulthood. Some people who have it never really recover like Edgar Allen Poe, and others who have treatment can develop normally and become successful and happy like Helen Keller.

Treatment for the disorder in a healthy way involves therapy that helps the patient to accept love, affection, and eventually form bonds. Unhealthy treatments usually involve forced contact and distressing/restraining the patient until they lose their will, and then show them affection and they’ll- sometimes- form bonds then out of desperation but this method is usually ineffective.

In Claire’s case, she was abandoned and neglected as a child leading her to not develop attachment. After tremendous violence and wrongdoing due to the effects of her condition, she ended up being punished for her actions once arriving in Hell. After her will was slowly broken down through torture, humiliation and abuse, she had practically given up. If it weren’t for some of the employees helping heal her, she would’ve never learned what it was like to be cared for or treated with affection and nurturing. Through this help she did learn to feel empathy and attachment. Only after she had recovered and learned was her situation evaluated and her condition finally discovered.

Sapphire would be extremely distraught over the news that Pink Diamond was never shattered. The false prediction about Pink that got her caught as off-color? Pink would triumph over the rebellion.
