For as long as I can remember, alcohol has influenced my life. Whether it be because my parents drank, I drank, my social group drank… it’s been something that I’ve struggled with in some degree for the entirety of my existence.
When I heard that Canadian Cancer Society was doing Dry Feb again this year - I knew it was time to challenge myself, as I can feel my mental health getting to an all too familiar place where I want to turn to alcohol because it’s easier then dealing with the weight of life 🥂
But I haven’t!!!! And I will continue not too.
Not only have I committed to personal growth & development - I am committing to breaking the cycle!
And I’m excited to announce that I will be giving up alcohol and staying “dry” for the entirety of February 🖤 I’m doing it in part to raise funds in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, but in part for myself to prove that I am NOT my past ✊🏻
Recovery is possible 😍 and I’m so excited to challenge myself to consciously look for healthier options outside of the bottle!

Dry Feb.
I decided to try this to raise some funds this year for The Canadian Cancer Society. Those who know me know I've had battles with alcohol in the past, been through Alcoholics Anonymous, lost friends because of my behaviour while drunk, and self-medicated for my ADHD through alcohol. I've had liver damage, lost time, all sorts of fun stuff.
I still drink on occasion, though not nearly as much as I used to, and this has been a challenge for me for the past 12 days. It's been a struggle some days to not drink, but I'm getting by. It's not anything I think I'll ever be able to leave behind, but I have learned to live with it, and to a certain extent, control it.
If you want to support the Canadian Cancer Society, please consider donating - if not to me, just donate if you can in general. Cancer is something that affects a lot of people, my family included, and if I can help in some small way I'll do it.

I like big cubes and I cannot lie. You can't see it in the side view, but there is a gorgeous, sexy piece of clear ice holding down the frozen blood orange slices. Always put the ice on top of the frozen fruit to keep itdown in the middle of the drink, releasing juice as it thaws. I put some orange blossom water, about a half ounce, in about 16 oz of sodastream water with frozen blood orange slices.
