Torque didn't know what to expect of the Membrane household. From what he knew, Dib had two family members: his father, a world-famous scientist, and his sister. Torque hadn't personally met Dib's sister, but he'd seen Dib sitting with her during lunch. She usually had some sort of gaming console in hand. He'd never seen her without it, really.

Given this, he was obviously a little nervous while picking up Dib for their date. He knocked on the door, heart in his throat. The door clicked open within a few seconds. There was Dib's sister, playing a Gameslave with one hand and holding open the door with the other. She paused her game and stared up at Torque. Or at least, he thought she was staring. Her eyes were very squinty.

"Oh. You must be the boy-toy."

Torque blushed. "WHAT?!"

"Dib's upstairs," Then she walked away without another word. So Torque gulped and walked inside.

The house was very gothic, lined in dark blues and blacks. And there was a lot, and he meant a lot, of Professor Membrane memorabilia.

He stood awkwardly in their living room, not quite sure what to do with himself.

"So what are you guys doing tonight?" Dib's sister asked.

"I don't know. Dib's picking."

"He's gonna take you cryptid hunting. He has his heart set on it, trust me."

Torque smirked. "How do you know?"

"He's my brother, and cryptids are the only thing he ever talks about. And, y'know, you."

Torque's face was lit on fire. "Uh- Erm- Really?"

The girl scoffed. "Yeah. It's fucking annoying."

"GAZ WHAT DID YOU TELL HIM?!" Dib yelled, gliding down the stairs. Oh. So her name was Gaz.

She shrugged. "Just that you wanna fuck Mothman."

"NO I DON'T!" Dib shouted. He grabbed Torque's arm and tugged him toward the door. "I'MLEAVINGNOWBYE!"

Dib slammed the door behind them. His face was red as a tomato. He adjusted his glasses and fiddled with his backpack straps. "Sorry. She's... Weird."

"She seems nice," Torque said, as if in consolation.

Dib scoffed. "Yeah, that's one word for it."

Torque smiled. "You look nice."
