Nothing unusual to ramble about from this week, so I'll ramble a bit about [[Doompiles]] that I've been working on.
Inspiration: Friends and their families and their doom rooms where everything gets thrown in. Doom rooms and spots that only seem to make sense to the person who unwittingly created it. Additionally, I wanted to capture something lively-yet-mundane while challenging myself to fit a bunch of items into an image's composition.
Other things: The concept of bringing objects to life is also something I've been seeing in the series Gachiakuta, which is an anime that features a huge amount of items that get dumped. Additionally, colder weather and my housemates' cooking shenanigans sometimes makes chores and time seem to move slower, which can result in stacked dishes and carryout bags on an adjacent table in the room I work in.
Challenges: So. Many Layers! Also, the concept seems so simple because I have seen many "doompiles." And yet it could be very difficult to think about a specific items to feature in the picture. If I spend too much time on one item, it's hard to keep up the momentum with other elements in the drawing. TTwTT
Oh! I'll end this post by saying that the song "Everything Now" by Arcade Fire came to me as the post's title, which I think is fitting with this theme of feelings and a void being buried in stuff.
