This here is a space where I share some of my art in addition to the thoughts I have in mind. Enjoy peeking into my brain, ye fellas. There will be many rambles and paragraphs.
Currently working on a batch of pride month gummy bear digital stickers. I'm experimenting with how I want to color them, but the general shape and line art is done.
Still taking it slow while balancing online courses, people wanting to hang out for the summer, housewarming parties, and various house projects that have been dragging on due to communication/other logistical blahs. Clutter makes it harder to think somehow.
Speaking of, I'd like to draw some Gachiakuta doodles (either after finishing the stickers/etc. or after getting through some of my art idea dump list). ...... oh wait *thousand year stare as I recall the [[doompiles]] collection*

In my previous post, I wrote about posting less and making more time for my friends/family. During this time, I was wrapping up some Kofi exclusive content (which is a post for another time!) while thinking about how a lot of my time gets eaten up transferring files from PC to phone and then opening up the Instagram app in an attempt to make a reel or optimize a post.
Around this time, I ranted out loud and found myself in one of the most doomed doomscrolling moments I've ever experienced. It dawned on me that IG could be listening. At this point, I was quite fed up with how Meta apps have evolved as of late and that I really wanted to minimize my time on Instagram. So instead of talking about the recent Kofi uploads to focus on how to transfer files (to both my PC and to this blog!) I contemplated announcing my Instagram leave.
This ended up not happening. Instead, I spent last week sick with a sore throat and thinking about the small group of followers (some who know my IRL) who probably wouldn't come over to Tumblr to see what I'm up to. No longer having my art as accessible to them made me sad. That, and, there's the convenience of being able to open the app IRL and just show someone what I've drawn digitally in the recent weeks.
So I decided that starting from now, I'd just post a lot less. And more laconically.
But my efforts to save, glaze, and transfer some older images were not in vain. I took a nice little trip through memory lane. Yes, back in the days I drew on my Galaxy Note 4 phone, uploaded directly to Instagram, and got a dopamine hit off of the growing feedback. Back when the algorithm wasn't so screwy.
Here are 12 of my favorites:
[this one's untitled actually. i think i'll call it "deconstruction" since that was the first hashtag] 08/03/2018
The very first doodle posted on Instagram actually wasn't a digital drawing. Just a good ol' pencil and sketchbook paper sketchy sketch. Fun trivia: this was also the first time I took a blaze of the happy green flower. You can see my fondness for those *starry* shapes from the very get-go.
[weirdfood - cake] 08/20/2018
I still wasn't labeling what I drew. But I definitely was enjoying odd food and the like. Still do to this day!
[i think i'll call this one illuminati cracked] 10/20/2018
One day I wanted to try more "detail." Also, this one doesn't have a background. (This reuploaded version has been Glazed to make it harder to feed into AI, so I think it created a texture/ added some "elements" to what would've been just a transparent background. It should also be noted that every throwback picture in this post has also been screenshotted and Glazed.)
[this one's @$#%*&!!] 05/16/2019
Come to think of it, I too would be tweet-screeching if I were a bird perched diagonally without care for my center of gravity for more than a minute. ^^"
[trying to #actnatural...] 06/15/2019
While I'm not the proudest about.... whatever's going on with the shading and some texture elements, I couldn't help but want to share this drawing with the squirrel posing on her head.
[ramen-itis] 07/01/2019 (and yayy I started [ ] inggg)
On another note, I miss using patterned "tones." Noted; I'll do that more often sometime~
I liked (and still do!) adding random faces and absurd elements into whatever I draw. I think the fish in the upper right corner was just me doing that usual thing ^^"
[personal goals] 07/02/2019
Inspired by some TV head/humanoids, as well as the "I hate my job" song by Jbdubs. Haha, the description for this was so profoundly written: "How interesting is the blurry line between self-discovery/actualization and being so caught up in your own standards/ideals that you disintegrate into a collage of caricatures... *Cough.*" Oh. I guess past me also internally laughed at this sentence.
[work is going swimmingly] 12/07/2019
And in the opposite direction, I present to you a fish with stellar performance and probably a betta working memory than a goldfish! (badumtsh)
I could see the dedication of past me trying to add details to show that this fish is looked after pretty well, likely as they are the office mascot/pet. In retrospect, I would've added a hammock. (At the time, my main experience with caring for fish was a goldfish!)
[**THUMBS UP EMOJI** AAAAA HOW DO YOU TYPE THIS pffet hold on I'm irl dying of laughter mission accomplished...?] 02/10/2020
Derived inspo from konosuba and MHW (monster hunter world). This one stuck out to me as I am getting back into Wilds, hehe!
Had it not been for the struggle of referencing my friends' and my armor pieces, I would've also been dying of laughter while drawing this.
[off with the wig!] 03/12/2020
The layout of this picture was inspired by the ending song/animation for Carnival Phantasm of all things! I likely drew this some time after watching the Enter the Florpus movie.
[check out my nest] 03/26/2020
Here's a lucky money pigeon. Also note how I've started to play around with line art colors more~
[Continue?] 04/11/2020
I will end this compilation with something I posted around the start of the COVID quarantine period. Drawing through uncertainty as an artist is a timeless theme, I think. Even as I shift focus, frequency, and where I share, I'll continue my doodles.
I generally treat my art page as a place for one of many hobbies that allow me (and others) to escape from reality while also vaguely alluding to it (because inspiration from the real world is inevitable).
Admittedly, I have been reducing the frequency that I post. It's a tad harder to outrun reality these days, no?
But aside from that, I have also been studying more skills in hopes of safeguarding my career/financial future (outside of art). I have also been trying to be more present with my friends and loved ones in an active attempt to shaddap that one voice that goes, "What if this is the last time you see them???"
Ya that's it that's this week's post.
I have some vague ideas about what I'll release on my Kofi page but I'll have to find where I wrote them down haha
Ever eaten out somewhere only to get a dish that was smaller than expected?
My partner sent me a picture of a sandwich that was around 20 dollars that modestly filled up a small plate. The timing I received that picture was perfect because I was wondering what comically-small dish to draw for this picture. That being said, I had to change the concept from modern dining to something else, since the food was more lunch-themed. Hence "the little things."
As for the server, I decided to portray him with that customer-service face that kinda comes with the job. The skeptical/disappointed reaction from customers is probably a pattern he's seen a few times by now.

A colder rainier day today! But on the brightside, it cleared up in time for food festival plans and the like.
Before that, I enjoyed some pho for brunch. I think it's my first time seeing red jalapenos (already sliced up). Or if I have seen them before, I haven't had this level served with my pho bowls before. Fun fact I just learned: red jalapenos aren't another type; it's the final ripened form of the green ones. The result is somewhat sweeter and spicier!
Y'know when you spot faces in random things, or when you stare at a light source for long enough (in this case, a fire) and then you start seeing colors?
I drew this based on the unexpected fire pit hangout with my group of friends after seeing one of thems get married. ^w^ In spite of the chilliness and sleep deprivation, I enjoyed what I saw enough to write it down as a drawing idea.
A silly comic that I drew based on a fortune cookie image I saw on the internet somewhere. I've been looking forward to drawing more spontaneous ideas like this after posting [[disintegration]] things, ahaha.
While I have some plans for traveling next weekend, I don't foresee it interfering with posts for this week.
Lately I've been watching The Comic Bang. Even got a discounted month of iQiyi specifically to watch it. Kinda takes me back to when I started this art account; I was watching Month Girls Nozaki-kun (which is an adaptation of the same manga that the The Comic Bang c-drama is derived from).
Maybe it'll inspire some drawings? Aside from one picture featuring a distant figure, I haven't really drawn people in awhile.
Aand [[disintegration]] is a wrap! So here are two designs based on my favorite visual elements from this drawing series.
Digital stickers are now available on my Kofi page, as well as a supporter-exclusive rant about how my brain escalated [[disintegration]] into a longer art series than expected. :D

Don't start a series of digital paintings..... only to drag it out with a few more pictures than expected.... only to DOUBLE the amount of pictures and then expect yourself to make EVEN MORE THINGS related to it once the fixation has worn off.
This isn't reverse psychology :D
I lack the mojo to continue drawing more [[disintegration]]-themed things. But I think the insanity and prolonged creative process was my (recent-ish) past self's idea in an attempt to make the series and theme more unhinged.
But now I'm just tired. I already figured that fueling art through "suffering" isn't my style. And it doesn't even suit my current life plans!
So TL;DR I'm only releasing the sketch notes (exclusive) and two digital stickers (one is free!) on my Kofi page this week.
Also, I'll still aim to post/doodle weekly but no plans for a series at the moment.
Instead of working on Kofi goodies as planned today, I ended up keeping an eye and ear open on tornado warnings in my area.
Normally, the place I live doesn't get them. But the warnings were serious enough that students were being pulled out of school early, and it was somewhat unsettling that the weather app seemed to understate the warning beyond intense rain.
So I wrapped up at my remote work earlier today and will be taking it easy. Last thing I want is to be interrupted by a power outage while working on digital stickers/walls/exclusive posts and whatnot. A friend of mine recently had their power flicker on/off consecutively within an hour. Nope, not taking my chances! Scheduling this post now before it gets crazier.
Guess I'll look forward to wrapping up next week! Take care
I enjoyed my little stroll. I met up with my partner who surprised me with a ube coconut macchiato drink that's been available at Starbucks.
The ube and milk combination was better than expected. The ube foam alone tasted similar to the foam on caramel macchiatos. I was a bit irked that a good amount of the coconut topping was stuck to the top of the lid, so I had to scoop some out to taste it. Not quite astig amazing but a pleasant drink to welcome warmer weather.
I would probably order it again but with coconut milk as the base. (I heard they usually make it with 2% milk.) And with an extra shot of coffee.
Also, I kinda wish I didn't wear my coat. Even with the iced drink and a cool breeze, I ended up quite sweaty because of it. If it weren't for my clumsiness and the length of my coat, I would've carried it or tied it around my waist. Oh well, still a nice change of pace! ^^"
at the time this post is posted, I will be celebrating a long-time friend's birthday (Finally! After 2 cancellations due to weather/sickness!) after enjoying some parkour shenanigans.
And everything will proceed as planned. This includes a planned art break for the week! Need some time to digest, think about Kofi goodies, game with friends, pursue some "mini-hobbies" (or rather, learn how to stitch up/reinforce a few bags hanging on for dear life).

Yesterday before creating a post for this collection, I couldn't help but think that there was something missing. So I quickly drew 5 smaller pictures as "transitional" images. Thought it was fitting, given the collection name.
Both in thematically and stylistically, I had to go out of my comfort zone a bit.
[bitter cup of tea] was something I wanted to morph from a nice little tea break to a more passive-aggressive, unapproachable (and maybe sinister) state.
[time piece - false bliss] was pretty self-explanatory and tackled the consequences of ignoring problems over time.
[overgrowth] combined a more structured, certain image with something with more uncertainty and less definition. I was also inspired by mold/bacteria.
[accusation] is a loosely relevant piece portraying projection and DARVO.
[checkpoint and decision] along with the ending image was quite... bizarre and unexpectedly more "heavy-handed" than I initially envisioned. What's it called when someone tries to roll things back to how something used to be only to make things worse because it digs up a lot of metaphorical skeletons from the closet while ignoring the consequences?
I got held up at work with some tech difficulties. By the time I got to writing the usual post for today, it was both later-than-usual and a major CHONKER of a post. (Images. Alt-text. Post text. Tags. The whole shebang! The post-iest post I've written in a long time!) Anyway, it's been scheduled for tomorrow. ^^"
