Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 large egg. 1 tsp vanilla extract. For the glaze:. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2-3 tbsp milk. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Sprinkles optional.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C and grease a donut pan. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden and spring back when touched. Remove from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip each donut into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to let excess glaze drip off. Add sprinkles if desired. Allow the glaze to set for about 15-20 minutes before enjoying your homemade baked donuts!
