What had really upset me wasn't the fact that they didn't like the PSA, they're entitled to their opinion. It was that they were so fast to truss Miles up and burn him at the stake. The man writes good things, I've enjoyed his writing, as he'd been doing so since Season 10 (if I'm not mistaken). He's brought a lot of good to RvB, and I loved the PSA! It was a nice slice of humorous political satire. 

Then there are people like those I've been...erm, discussing with who see something, don't understand it, and instead of going "Well, WHY would the writer write this?" or even "You know, I'm not happy with this, even if it's written to be satire. I'm upset: here's why", they decide to tag their hate, mock the writer, and go on a bratty, entitled shitstorm. 

Miles has a Tumblr. He's a person. He didn't deserve so much aggression and mockery. A lot of RT doesn't like a big chunk of the fandom and the original posters are the reason why. 

Wait, I stand corrected. THREE whole inbox posts! Wow, SOMEONE’S involved. 

There’s not a problem, love. You’re being overly sensitive and looking over the fact that he wrote something that BENEFITS your cause. He wrote an episode mocking stalkers and guys who make girls uncomfortable. But nope, let’s just burn him at the stake, because your fee-fees got hurt since you didn’t understand. 

You are absolutely allowed to get angry. Your emotions are absolutely valid. Know what isn’t valid? Misinterpreting something and then putting a crap load of effort into mocking it, which just makes you a ball of negativity who let the point go over your head. 

I’m defending someone who made a good episode and is being attacked for no good reason. 

What are YOU doing that is so productive?

If you didn't like the episode, you didn't have to say so. You didn't have to make a blog. You didn't have to make a fuck ton of posts about it. You didn't have to tag it where people would see. 

You didn't have to send me two separate messages in my ask. You didn't have to reply to me either. You didn't have to "break character". You didn't have to be a moron about it. 

Oh, wait. But I'm the one who should have just scrolled past. Because I put HALF as much effort into defending something you just flat out DIDN'T UNDERSTAND, as you did making a blog, getting your boyfriend involved, creating several posts and REBLOGGING several of those posts, tagging several of those posts, and then feeling entitled to respect on the internet when you didn't give any. 

Oh, hello friend. I see I have reached the point of hate sent over my inbox. I hate the word problematic because tumblrinas use it all the time and have desensitized the word entirely so they can complain about overglorified annoyances they encounter. But sure, call me pretentious. :D 

In fact, I'm sooooo pretentious I decided to go to someone's ask and make TWO messages to them, one that is half in ALL CAPS LOOK AT HOW ANGRY AND SERIOUS I IZ!, oh, and I made an extra blog too! With purposefully bad spelling as a cry for attention! Oooh, ooh! Do I win the special award yet?

"If you're so fucking upset about it don't take it out on him." Except he was the one to reply to me. How the heck was I supposed to know there was more than one rude brat commenting to me? I wasn't. Sit your ass down. 

You're right, I don't know Miles. I do only know what he puts online. But what he puts online is fab, and he hasn't given me, or anyone with an iota of intelligence a reason to make a blog mocking him. I'll defend him if I want: I'm not the one spreading negativity because I couldn't understand when a satire is actually standing up for your cause.

People like you are so fast to say "HEY! Be nice to my boyfriend and I even though we were rude fuck nuggets" and then turn around and say "DON'T U DARE DEFEND THIS PERSON I DON'T LIKE BECAUSE REASONS"!

Most certainly! My bestest friend in the whole wide world (Grump: aka, thequeensclock) has only her lobes pierced, not a drop of ink in sight, and I adore her to bits. 

And my current crush doesn't have a single mod on him, though he has plans, same as Grump. I'd say around 60% of the people I'm friends with in college and like or have liked/crushed on are entirely unmodified, and a good handful of them don't want to be, either. I think so long as someone isn't outright cruel and hateful about the piercings, tats, etc, I can get along with them.
