New little shelving unit meant a two-day total display re-arranging project. Here are some of the gals getting re-situated.
The Odyssey begins.
I planned this at the begining of May but it's been a busy month.
Tonight I dug out a Barbie outfit that I had, still in its package representing an ancient Greek chiton. It tried to figure out which doll/character for it and, well...
She's giving Main Character Energy!
This is my Cyclops, whom my partner has named "Poly" because reasons.
I'm digging out all the Grecian gear, and have realized that I now need to make three matching Odysseus costumes in two sizes. I have some incredible faux-alligator pleather with a bit of copper sheen to it, so I'm going to make a sort of leather armor out of it and a little tunic out of some nice batiste. I'm planning sandals, too.
I found my 1/4 scale mermaid tail, I just need to cast the role. I think I'll go with a doll that has an open mouth.
There will be several sizes of sirens.
I've also figured out how to do the mast of the ship; I'm going to use a doll stand, since I'm tying Odysseus to it anyways. I'll set the mast into the bottom of the stand and then find the doll to it.
I picked up my mother's anthro piggies for Circe's Island, too. The rest of the Anthros are also going to join in, all dressed up as pigs, of course.
can someone please explain how to install lighting like this? I've been searching for a tutorial but I can't find anything.
Updated cozy corner photo!
I've got all my backerkit plushes on the bean bag but the sheer amount of plushies is starting to become overwhelming lol.
Boyfriend asked if I was going to use the promo link with the discounted merch that we got at the TADC movie premier to get a plushie and I had to refrain because I simply don't have room for more plushies.

First baby steps into displaying all the Dream Besties.
There are too many for a single Detolf cubby so I've allocated two. In this cubby I have a thrifted acrylic riser I removed one level from, so it's just got two levels left.
It's pretty much the max height of steppage that I could squeeze in; the top row of dolls has heads pressed against the ceiling of the case.
Unfortunately, while the size means I can cram three rows deep, it actually turns out to look shitty. It's dark back there, the faces are obscured by rows in front, etc.
I guess I can try just two rows buuuut they won't all fit in two cubby spaces then ... and I dunno if I want to allocate THREE cubby spaces for one style of doll. I s'pose I'll think about it. :<
Oh and here's the original cubby they were all shoved together in before. Maybe it's just as well that the riser doesn't make them look good, since it was thrifted and I couldn't find another one to match anyway.
Edit: Ooh damn I forgot Ken. Typical for that guy. Well I hate the Dream Besties Ken, he doesn't match the girls at all. They dropped the ball on him.
