[Image Description: Model wear a t-shirt. The shirt says âProud disabled Yogi.â There is a stick figure lying on a yoga mat with a cane next to the stick figure.]
I created this design for me, honestly. Â
Yoga is great for me, but I sometimes feel excluded because of my disability.
I also learned how to digitize my art as vector graphics, so this is much higher-quality than the art Iâve posted to Zazzle in the past. Which was fun to learn. Iâll be making more....
As Iâve said before, I post these designs because people sometimes request to buy them. Thatâs awesome that you guys like my work so much! But Iâm okay financially, so no pressure from me to buy anything!
I've been thinking about the Korra-disability narrative, and it's starting to sound ableist.
She's only disabled out of an event that brought her to ruins.
She's this pathetic, sad girl when she's disabled, but ultimately gets better and all is as it should be.
When you analyse it, it plays to all the ableist stereotypes that people of disability are miserable, broken, pathetic, and that their condition is temporary.
A racist incident against children with multiple disabilities took place in North Greece, when a priest refused to give them the communion. The man claimed that these children âdo not understandâ and therefore âmay spit the communion out.â
The incident took place at a summer military camp in Leptokarya, West Macedonia.
It was six children from a neighboring camp visiting the military one in the context of a program for the childrenâs integration and socialization. The children were supposed to attend the Sunday service at the open-air church.
When the time came for the children to receive the holy communion the priest refused to do so claiming that the children with disabilities âmay spit it out.â
The shocked attendants, eight in total, turned to the camp management run by the Greek Army complaining about the incident in which the military priest was involved.

I started a gofund me today to help pay for a wheelchair, car repair and other expenses this month that I likely wonât be able to cover without some extra funds. Details are in the link! Will be sharing this periodically.Â

Hi guys, today we're back to our regularly scheduled programming, talking about things I've been thinking about recently - right now it's feeling stuck, having low capacity/spoons to do things, and how to make friends?!Â
Are there other people that feel similarly to any of the things Iâve talked about?
Would you value knowing other people that are similar to you, especially if youâre autistic?Â
Have you found any solutions or ideas for what you could try if you had a little extra energy or capacity?Â
Do you think that thing a risk and doing something that past experience tells you I bad for you might actually be a good thing for you to do to make progress?Â
Is it better to maintain a stable ânowâ in the hope that youâll gain more capacity to do things in the future?Â
Are any of those things mutually exclusive at all?! And finally, is anyone a part of a Facebook group (or a similar closed group of some kind), or if not, would you be interested in being part of something like this?Â
I hope anyone dealing with similar things is doing okay, and I'd really love to hear from you, if you'd like!Â

Me: *taking said hoodie off because I'm now nauseous from being hot*
-5 minutes later-
Me: *crying because I'm cold but I know I'll just take the hoodie off because I'll get hot* ... the fuck, man?
My body: *shrugs* Gotta do ehatcha gotta do.
On the subject of disability, I found a Jesus that is, frankly, disappointing.
