With a (very) substantial 40% cacao butter content, this bar is buttery and melts in the mouth as such. The star anise and cardamom are most prominent for me, with an almost tingling sensation from the spices. The buckwheat and pumpkin seed lend an earthy backbone to the chocolate. Such an interesting bar, but that’s what I would expect from Solkiki and their extensive range, including chocolate produced from rare cacao. We just enjoyed a tasting of three different microlot direct trade coffees from @goldmtncoffee: Nicaragua Finca Idealista Honey Process, The Best of Three Worlds, and Don Isidro Mulled Wine. My first tasting is always with a crazy light roast. I LOVED them all. My favorite, so far, is the Don Isidro- red wine, grapes, and chocolate milk as it cools. We tasted them all as French Press, Pourover, and Espresso. I'm roasting "The Best of Both Worlds" coffee blend from @goldmtncoffee. It is a blend of three different ways of processing coffee: Washed, Natural and Honey Process. Several years ago, I walked through 19 coffees and met all of the farmers. For me, when I met Don Francisco and Don Yader, to name a few, it was like meeting a rock star. Apres-Pandemic, I'm looking forward to visiting again! I'm going to taste this coffee as a pourover, French Press, espresso, and aeropress tonight.
