IN A CANON NUTSHELL : i’m pretty sure everyone is generally familiar with at least the premise of the percy jackson series - but just in case !! perseus “percy” jackson grew up until the age of twelve thinking he was a mere mortal with his lovely mom & awful stepfather , biological dad lost at sea , until he gets attacked by his pre-algebra teacher turning into a winged monster and , fast forward , he’s taken to a camp made up entirely of children between the greek pantheon & mortals , camp half-blood . at first he’s unclaimed , until a few days later the god poseidon claims him which is . . . kind of a big nono ! considering hades, zeus, and poseidon took a vow to not conceive any demigods after wwii . zeus also broke that oath but zeus is a hypocrite and we don’t like him . the rest of the series carries on with percy saving the world a few times , fulfilling a prophecy that ends with taking down the resurrected kronos , then gaea when she rears her ugly head and . . . yeah . if you’re a demigod you don’t know peace and percy . . . would much rather be a mortal . but like , life i guess .
IN AN ALUCARD NUTSHELL : so to start , besides the whole demigod thing , percy’s life isn’t all that unchanged - except he’s an actual mortal this time around . again grew up super close to his mom , however she disappeared when he was twelve years old and now her case has gone cold . moved out at sixteen since four years alone with his stepfather were unbearable , and has been living with friends ever since and trying to just . get out into the working world so he can support himself / live on his own and eventually try and reopen up the case to find his mother . up until now though he’s had a shit ton of trouble keeping jobs ( always some freak accident that gets him let go ) but he’s always been good at swimming so community center lifeguard is the best possible thing for him .

okay so I mentioned Percy’s been pretty much living with his friends ever since he was sixteen - so I’d like some former roommates and current roommate(s) ! the amount of time he’s stayed will vary - some maybe for only a few months for whatever reasons , maybe a few for a year or so . we can talk that stuff out !!
SO PERCY , never really been the type to have a lot of friends though . he’s always been one of the more outcasted kids , so maybe negative school connections ?? maybe kids who he’s gotten into fights with , intense rivalries , ex-friends - just give me people that wouldn’t stand him back then . he wasn’t a bully , never went out of his way to attack anyone , but he wasn’t one of the people everyone got along with . he’s probably punched and gotten punched by a few people .
old neighbors that haven’t seen him since he left home !! just some folks that knew percy & his mom and haven’t seen him ever since he left his stepdad . that stuff .
maybe some parental figures ?? because percy honestly kind of needs that guidance and . yeah .
exes !! again , he’s been around a lot of places so he’s probably dated a few times . not sure how serious of relationships these would be , probably nothing too long-term but definitely has had a few relationships . percy’s bi he’s a bicon and i will accept nothing else
folks who want to try and push percy to do more than what he’s doing right now , maybe trying to get him to go back to school or get a different job than what he has now since . . . he’s still kind of just floating and scraping by in preparation of wanting to build up more . he wants to get rich enough one day to where when he finds his mom she doesn’t have to work a day in her life and neither does he , but you can’t really get there if you’re workin’ as a lifeguard for the rest of your life , so .
former and current coworkers - i’ve established before that percy has been through a LOT of jobs so definitely people that have briefly gotten to know him through them and also now ! maybe those coworker connections also led to things like maybe they briefly dated or maybe percy crashed on their couch a few times - again , we can build off of that stuff .
regular attendees of the community center that percy works at , just some folks he knows by name and recognizes or go to see him or some shit idk there’s gotta be SOME people who come by regularly idk
folks trying to help percy find his mom - because . . . that’s his top priority right now . he just wants her back that’s it :(
maybe kind of like a band of thieves / lost kids group connection of sorts ?? just some folks around percy’s age who haven’t had the best hand dealt to them by life and they all just kinda take comfort in that together , hang out at abandoned places or in cheap areas and just . kinda live . that stuff .

sebastian smythe, twenty-five, journalist -- sebastian is a journalist for the local news in alucard. taking on a variety of different article genres, his true passion is in investigative journalism. a workaholic, an alcoholic, & a bit of an asshole, he can come across as cold or even cruel at times; but once he opens his heart to you, he’s fiercely protective & loyal.

so for this, we might have to actually brainstorm... -- okay, so... since sebastian’s a little bit of a hard person to befriend, we might have to talk about how they’d actually be friends. this could be an unlikely friendship, a sibling-like friend, a drinking friend, a co-worker, etc.

non-biological parents -- so i’m honestly up for anything here. maybe sebastian actually really gets along with his parents, or maybe he just outright hates them & only stays because he has nowhere else to go ? we can definitely plot something out here !

something... -- please note that sebastian is gay, so this connection will only work for a male character. probably the first & only time sebastian has actually felt something terrifyingly close to love. whether they’re still doing this dance or it’s been over for a while, we can plot it out.
exes -- sebastian’s not the type to keep a steady relationship for a variety of different reasons such as his fear of being seen & known as well as his fear that one day everyone is going to leave him, so he’s an utter asshole to avoid getting hurt because at least if they leave him, he’ll know why.
fuckbuddies -- whether they’re still actively fucking, we can decide on that ksdjfh. this could either lead to something more, has lead to something, or was once something in the past. sebastian’s definitely not one to get too close to a person, but sex also just doesn’t seem to count as intimacy to him.

8 out of 10 people -- okay, let’s be real here. so most people who meet sebastian will either think he’s hilarious or outright hate him. he’s definitely not the easiest person to get along with since he can be quite rude & calculating at times, but eh... it be like that.
will graham, fourty, forensic psychology professor -- will is a forensic psychology professor at the university. originally a cop on the police force, he quit after a case gone wrong. while he can be a bit apathetic or distant, he means well & is actually quite the empathetic person. one could even say what he has is “ pure empathy ”.
platonic:
teacher-assistant -- if your character is a student at the university going into psychology or maybe even criminology, maybe they can be a ta for will’s classes ? will is primarily a forensic psychology professor; however, he teaches a variety of psychology & forensic science classes.
neighbour -- will’s lived in his house all his life, his dad passed on the house to him, so maybe someone he knew from his childhood or maybe someone who moved in later on. will keeps to himself relatively, but he does his best to be a good neighbour. maybe they’ve had talks in passing ?
familial:
kids -- from a past marriage or maybe they’re even adopted ! here’s a plot that is going to stay open for a while. if you want your character to have a well-meaning dad who tries his best to do right by his kids, leave the adoption papers or the birth certificate with me !
nieces / nephews -- so maybe you want your character to be will’s niece & nephew, alright ! maybe will’s the uncle whose kind of awkward but means well, or maybe will’s the uncle who is like a second dad to your character !
romantic:
ex-something -- maybe an ex-spouse, ex-partner. i’m not really up for a cheating plot at all, so this connection is good for them just falling out of love. whether things end amicably between them or they’ve gone onto resent each other, it’s entirely up to you !
flirting -- while will’s not the smoothest person around, maybe he & your character have some level of attraction with each other ? whether anything is going to sprout from their attraction is up to you, but we can definitely plot something out for the long-run !
adversary:
someone he slighted -- will has the tendency of putting his foot in his mouth when it comes to people with how blunt he can be. while he is absolutely a purely empathetic person, sometimes he forces himself to be entirely distant, subsequently going overboard at times.
harry osborn, twenty, university student -- harry is a university student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental law. he’s a big advocate for the environment & sustainability. he’s quite friendly & generous, always willing to help out a friend when needed; although try not to get on his bad side... once he holds a grudge... it’s hard for him to let things go.
platonic:
childhood friends -- maybe they were friends from elementary & have stayed friends forever, maybe they grew up in the same neighbourhood & would play together; or maybe their families were best friends, so they became childhood friends !
school friends -- regardless of elementary, middle, high school or college; maybe they had projects together & are each other’s go-to partners, maybe they were friends from similar electives, or maybe they were the friends who didn’t have many classes together !
unlikely friends -- neither of them know exactly how they became friends, but all they know is that everyone can’t believe it when they tell them ! whether it’s a personality thing or a “ how did you two even meet ?? ” sort of thing, both are completely happy with their friendship !

siblings -- older or younger siblings, could fit m/f/nb characters, & the siblings could be full, half, or adopted ! whether harry gets along with them & they’re incredibly close, or whether harry doesn’t get along with them regardless of reason, i’d love to give him some siblings !
parents -- could be full, half, or adopted. maybe harry was in the foster system & your character absolutely had to adopt him after bonding with him ? or maybe you’re his step-parent who is trying their best to get to know him ? i’m up for anything here !
cousins -- whether older or younger, this can be quite fun ! maybe cousins who are so close they’re like siblings, or maybe they’re cousins who don’t quite get along ! maybe they even both bond over being the gay cousin ? it’s up to you !
uncles & aunts -- more extended family connections, give me awkward aunts or uncles who don’t really know how to talk to harry. or, give me aunts or uncles who are extremely close with harry, almost as if they’re like his second parents !

puppy crush -- maybe a cute, little crush that happened in passing for either your character or harry ! whether it was an obvious one or whether it’s still happening can be plotted out. keep in mind, harry is bisexual, so this can work for m/f/nb !

001. would die for a plot where link has a crush on your muse and never says anything about it. just admires them from afar and it too scared to say anything about it. maybe they come into his dad’s shop or link has seen them at a coffee shop / book store / any meet - cute hot - spot and they always end up there together. link has never been in a relationship, so please don’t tease him ! 002. also think a best friend that he almost looks up to would be sick. link is a man of VERY few words and never really says much. he talks, but doesn’t ramble or anything, keeps it very concise. but, if you muse can ramble and talk and teach link how to use his big boy words and get him out of his shell, that’d be RAD.
003. lastly, i think link having a someone who he doesn’t talk to, someone where they can just enjoy each other’s company in silence is cute. someone where they can give each other a look and it speaks volumes ! could also include tons of fluff with cuddling, watching movies and kisses on the cheek / forehead / nose. little acts of showing their friendship and how close they are.
