⧠⌠⧠âJust one?â Wolfwood asks, rolling the lollipop across his tongue and nestling it on the inside of his other cheek. âThatâs what you said last time about the Padisarah Pudding. âOh, Wolfwood, I just want a bite, thatâs all, I swear!ââ The priest has his palms pressed together in a poor mimicry of his companionâs pleas. He lets out a snort, glasses tilted down to meet Vashâs gaze. âYou know itâs a sin to lie, blondie. We both know that youâre not gonna be satisfied with just a taste.â ⌠ ⧠ ⌠Â

Perhaps it was a bad, not so very good idea to have gotten the god into the game that is Genuis Invocation TCG, for they are a raw menace in the fighting ring ... but perhaps it was a good idea too! For it allowed them to find out that some people they only knew as acquaintances were also into it, giving them a happy springboard for discussions! ... and maybe a few ruined friendships ( though it was less violently ended than matches of Teyvolopoly ).
And so it seemed, today would be another day of finding an unexpected face in an unexpected place ... Diluc, sitting squarely with a cat in his lap in the famed Cat's Tail tavern, leaving the god to stand awkwardly in the door frame for a short moment before the entryway door was promptly closed.
"Well well well, you are definitely not a face I was expecting to find here! ... come for the milk and juice? Not together, of course ... or are you perhaps"âeyes narrowed a little, a wider smile playing at the corners of their lipsâ"somehow into the card game being hosted here?"
It had been days--well over a week, by his reckoning--since the conclusion of the Drumalong, and he still hadnât gotten over it.Â
It being one of a few gestures of elephantine proportion, previously housed in expensive lacquered boxes Shinobu had casually appraised as being costly, to place it conservatively. The message Thoma had left still skittered through his mind like the pair of Onikabuto the man had gifted while Itto absently wandered through Hanamizakaâs commercial districts, almost obliviously mowing people down while the two insects perched on his shoulders; hardly an odd sight for him, but it was his brisk distractedness that was the bigger concern. After all, it made no zero sense! Not a lick of it!
Itto... was bluntly aware of his sour reputation in Hanamizaka and beyond. He knew he was tolerated at best, a nuisance at worst, head of a Gang of delinquents who couldnât even do that right! Hell, sometimes he thought some of his own members--like the Traveler and Shinobu--didnât like him much. Which... was it really so wrong that he got that impression? Yes, they were close, but... maybe he was closer to them than they were to him.
Ugh.
So, why the hell would people like Thoma bother? Help out with the next event? Yeah, not happening! They probably wanted to see it crash and burn for laughs, or something!
With a soured expression did Itto bank sharply down a back alley, mindlessly trudging ahead towards one of the hole-in-the-wall izakaya he could drink the afternoon away in, until--
âWhoa, watch it!â Itto blurted when he almost ran smack dab into a shorter man, until he blanched in recognition.Â
âOh, uh--hey... bro! Aha, I was just... goinâ--â he tapered off evasively, meaning to skirt around the man as swiftly as he could. Not the person he wanted to face then and there, nuh-uh!
It was a normal day on the Dawn Winery property, Kaeya - who was a few months shy of becoming 14 years old - was training with his favorite people in swordsmanship with Crepus and Diluc! It was days like these that made Kaeya proud to be a Ragnvindr as both he and Diluc were honing their skills to one day become a Captain of the Knights of Favonious.
All three Ragnvindrâs were currently sword wielders but this training session was different as Kaeya was wielding a new sword - a rapier specifically - and needed some practice with said new weapon as it gave Kaeya a little more freedom to be âfancyâ with his footwork compared to his brother. âCome now brother ~ Do I look like the type to use techniqueâs that the rest of the Knights use? We were told to always wield our weapons in ways that are both comfortable yet practical... that is exactly what Iâm doing ~ right father?â the adopted son smiled up at his father as Crepus chuckled lightly with a slight nod.
âYes, I did teach you both that.. I just didnât expect one of my sons to âpranceâ around like a swan... anyway, itâs best to adapt to all situations so I hope when conflict arises that you will both quickly learn the difference between showing off and protecting the people of Mondstadt from threats.â That comment was more focused at Kaeya then Diluc but it was still the advice that Crepus wished to share with his boys so they remember that adaptability is important.
Of course, Jean had heard the swirl of rumors, whispers on the wind, that Master Diluc Ragnvindr recently returned home after three long, painstaking years. Three years without a single letter home or the tiniest breadth of a hint as to whether or not the man still lived. And with the gossiping chatter of Mondstadtâs free-spirited townspeople came all at once an overwhelming sense of relief â before nosediving into absolute dread.
Over the course of the week, sheâd thrown herself fully into the wide variety of tasks assigned to her as Varkaâs studious right-hand. Responsible and chivalrous, put together and dependable. Extra patrols around the city? Check. Scheduling important training exercises that would require painstaking oversight to ensure that none of the knights were slacking? Check. Mountains upon mountains of paperwork regarding strategies and diplomatic agreements with the nations surrounding Mondstadt, alongside Snezhnaya? Check. Random tasks as assigned by knights in over their heads or townspeople desperate for a steady hand to take charge? Check, check, and check. Typically, she would have made an attempt to get her fellow knights to at least assist her in any endeavors they tried to shove off their own plates ( as a learning opportunity â better to give the benefit of the doubt and be on standby if it truly was too difficult, and if it wasnât, she could scold them ), but today, yesterday, and the day before, Jean had simply accepted the opportunity to distract herself.
Of course, Diluc couldnât be avoided forever. There were only so many hours in the day that he wouldnât be in the city proper. Only so much time that the inevitable could be pushed aside. Eventually, there would be tasks requiring his own oversight in the city, as opposed to at the winery, and they would run into each other. Not that she was avoiding him! They were friends, and there wasnât any reason to dally on reuniting. Simply put, Jean had too much on her plate, that was all. Varka often preferred to be âleading the chargeâ so to speak, and left a great many of the more detail-oriented portions of leadership in her hands.
So why, if she knew this plain as day, had she instantly bolted to hide behind the nearest corner to avoid her dear friendâs notice when she saw him? Like a ridiculous child, nervous about being scolded. A moment of weakness, the crippling feelings of guilt and doubt worming their way into her thoughts. Truthfully, how could she face her childhood best friend, when heâd left due to the deception and lacking spines of the Knights of Favonius? It had been three years. And faced with reality, all her strides towards creating a more upstanding, useful version of the knights theyâd looked up to as children all seemed... small. Not nearly enough.
He looked different. Solemn. Dressed in all black as if permanently in mourning, which she supposed suited him after the events of three years past. Dilucâs hair still held that wild and unruly quality it had in their younger days, but now it remained up in a high ponytail, out of the way.
It had only been half a minute. As reality set in, Jean quickly adjusted her gauntlets, tightened the bow in her ponytail, set her shoulders back... and returned to what sheâd been doing prior. A hilichurl camp had been spotted oddly close to the city walls, and it was easier to go out and have it handled before sunset. She could have them dispatched quickly on her own, and then do a patrol of the perimeter while the other knights stuck to their posts within the city. That way, if the entire group wasnât still within the camp, there would be available knights to protect the citizens if the leftover hilichurls lashed out.
Without missing a beat, when her eyes met Dilucâs, she raised a hand to wave in greeting, before... simply continuing on her way to the city gates. If he wished to talk now, they could. Otherwise, she had a mounting list of odd tasks to handle before the day ended. More than likely, he had his own list of duties to attend to, far outnumbering playing catch up with her.

With the tea set provided by the Inn, Zhongli pours two cups of tea with a steady hand. One for him, one for Xiao.
"I have heard tale of your exploits recently," he says evenly as he works. "You've been working hard as always, but I can only hope you remember to rest as well. Perhaps you could indulge an old man for a little while?" It's framed as a request, but they both know it isn't truly one.
To say he was surprised to see his lord would be an understatement. Even more so that he would come specifically to find him and invite him to tea! Invite.. Not that he would have outright rejected if it were an actual invite, but it sure didnât feel like one.
âYou have... heard? I pray that what youâve come to hear pleases you.â Not that he wasnât sure heâd done his duty flawlessly, but he would prefer it if he were praised rather than scorned.
Still, Xiao takes his place beside Zhongli, sitting himself nice and close and he sits for a moment but only a moment before he returns to his feet.
âWould you like a meal with your tea, perhaps? I have heard the chef was making biscuits, and though I am not partial to them, I will gladly retrieve them for you.â
It had been a long day, not exceptionally longer than most, but long enough for him to want to grab a drink after he finished work. However, he wasnât really looking for what Liyue had to offer so, he made his way to Mondstadt. After all, he did need to check in on Viktor and Pavel so, why not kill two birds with one stone?
He checked in with Pavel on his way to Mondstadt, having a brief chat with him before continuing on his way. Once he had arrived it was decently late so he decided to stop into Angelâs Share, making plans to stay the night inside the city before he stopped by to visit Viktor at the cathedral.
He had heard a lot about Mondstadt from the traveler, looking around the tavern before moving to sit down at the bar, ordering some Dandelion Wine from the man behind the bar, reaching for his mora pouch and tossing it on the countertop, ready to pay.
@devctiionâ asked :Â In the world of the Knights of Favonius, full of strong personalities all vying for their own ambitions, there is something comfortable about coming home to the familiar. A patient smile and a willing ear; Thoma possesses both. Always a steady presence, warm and unassuming enough that one may take it for granted. But while the three of them share their adventures for the day, full of small victories and funny mishaps, it's only when Diluc has him alone that he thinks to speak of other matters on his mind.
"Thoma-" he begins and stops. The fireplace is burning low. There's a warm cup of tea in his hand. Quiet comforts after a hectic day. His mouth feels a little dry suddenly, so he takes a small sip and tries again. "Thoma, have you ever kissed someone?"
despite the steady rise of the moon outside , the teenager finds himself still feeling rather energetic - being around his friends really did have an effect on him , that eagerness to spend every waking moment with them even if it wasnât very likely. but he couldnât help it ! he cared so deeply for his companions it was enough to make his chest ache when they were away for extended periods of time. the blond does not think of that , however ; emerald eyes watch diluc with curious intrigue , and even when he hears the question he doesnât turn away , instead letting out a nervous giggle.Â
   â  like ... a real kiss ? â
that was a silly question. of course thatâs what diluc meant , what else could it be ? it wasnât uncommon to kiss a familial figure on the cheek in these parts of the land , or to give a quick peck on the forehead for a friend. but on the lips ... why , the thought alone brought butterflies to his tummy ! knowing that many of his friends already had their first kiss ...Â
thoma hums partially under his breath , a habit heâs had for years now. soft digits trail along the porcelain of the cup as he contemplates how to phrase this. when he seems satisfied with himself the boy rocks in his spot , swaying back and forth , briefly flicking his attention skyward in sheepish modesty.Â
   â  no , i donât think i have ! iâm waiting for someone special , hehe. why ? â
another thought crosses his mind and the blond gasps , doe eyes widening as he returns his attention back to the redhead.Â
â  ohh , did you -- ? who did you kiss diluc ? oh my , who was it ? do i know them ? tell me ! â
