There are too many 'maybe' people on earth. Too many scared, wishy washy, grey-area people.
You know the ones. They are the ones who
say maybe to your event invites.
who can't commit to anything.
who defer to others.
who ask others for the advise and opinions.
who run to others to tell them what to do or tell them whats wrong.
These people are all giving their responsibility away to others. And this is equivalent to giving all your power away. Why do people do this? Because if they make the wrong decision, they can blame it on someone else. Maybe they are afraid of the consequences. Maybe they are not strong enough to make their own mind up. Maybe they need to grow some balls.
If you are one of these people, it's pretty simple really, take self responsibility and start making yes or no decisions for yourself.
It's time to stop running to others to get them to tell you what to do.
It's time to stop being a maybe person.
It's time to make your own decisions and be OK with them.
If this is hard, start small. Start by making small decisions then work your way up to life changing decisions.
Often, it's hard to listen to yourself and make your own mind up because the level of trust and faith within yourself may be very low. Perhaps you don't trust yourself enough to make a call so you ask someone else. That is OK. Don't judge yourself for this. However make a conscious choice to start from this point on start listening to yourself. The way to build trust and faith is to start listening to that little voice inside that says what's right and wrong. Says what feels good and what doesn't. The more you listen to it the louder it gets.
Start by only doing things that feel good to YOU. Don't just go somewhere because your friend asked you. Do you WANT to go? Does this friend make you feel good? If not, say no and don't go. If yes, go. When you make definitive decisions, you move from 'sitting-on-the-fence' to becoming a stronger person. If you get an event invite on Facebook, you don't have to reply straight away, just choose either yes or no. No more maybe invites. No-more half committing then pulling out of plans. If you want to go, say yes, put it in your diary and go. No buts.
People will then start to learn they can rely on you. They will start to know you say what you mean, and you mean what you say. If you are straight up and definitive people know where they stand with you. No game playing.
As your trust and faith is increasing, you start to believe in yourself more, and you feel more self worth and self belief. This allows you to feel self respect and to feel good about yourself. What this brings with it is that you want the best for yourself. And because you have trust in yourself you listen to yourself - because guess what you know what's best for yourself! So you start only doing things, going places and seeing people that make you feel good. That support your goals. These things then encourage you to become a better person. This helps you to have a better attitude. You get to a point where your self belief says 'I can do anything! And I can do better than this! I can do more with my life!' You become passionate about focusing on things you love doing. And the more you do what you love and hang out with people that make you feel good, the stronger you become.
This is about the point when you have the strength to start taking full self-responsibility for your words, behaviors, actions and thoughts and you realise you never need ask or defer to another human ever again.
YOU are all you need.
