<Warning: ramble ahead>
It's been quite a while--nearly a decade, in fact--since I was last in the world of academia. There are aspects of it I don't miss at all: the "publish or perish" race, the hopping from adjunct job to adjunct job without knowing whether I'll be teaching enough courses to cover rent and food. But then again, some things I do miss. I love teaching and would love to teach again (though I'm not sure I'm temperamentally suited to handle students who rely on gen AI for everything). And, odd as it might sound, I miss research. There's something about the thrill of intellectual discovery that nothing else can quite match.
This being the case, I sometimes think I should throw caution to the winds and write a book. I have (at least right now) a steady job that isn't too demanding and that provides, among other things, access to library resources. And, as I've mentioned before, I have a considerable, ever-growing store of knowledge on the Presocratic philosophers that knocks on the inside of my skull demanding to be let out.
This would, of course, be a huge investment in time and effort. And then there are the nagging doubts: do I have the intellectual discipline to commit to such a project? Am I really good enough, smart enough, creative enough to make it work? Can I find anything worth saying that other, finer minds haven't already said?
So, the upshot of all this is that I don't know quite what to do. All I know is that I'm tired of being indecisive. The time has come to make up my mind, one way or the other.
can't decide between wanting to be a strong and independent women or wanting someone else to do all the thinking while babying me >-<
I want to write omega Steve Rogers content. I want him being bred by Bucky before and after the serum. On the other hand Alpha x Alpha….Either way this pretty man is getting topped.
If this reaches an audience anyone have any a/b/o headcannons or favourite tropes
