Two skeletons in a row?
I just gave up trying to not deform the skull for the purposes of conveying gender.
And y’know what? I like it. Sure it doesn’t make sense, but character design isn’t always about realism. My goal way to convey the idea of a sexy lady using just a skull.
The gem-eyes really helped. I really like the extra ones bedazzling her cheek bones. And then of course we have highly suggestive magic fire holding the whole thing aloft.
I love it. Would a badass lady who wanted to become a Lich go to all this trouble to make sure that would-be adventurers can tell she a woman? Probably not, but what do I know? Maybe her gender identity is a big deal for her.
I’d use this design for a lady Demi-Lich if I was running a game.
Oh! And speaking of the initial frustrations of having to make a skeleton convey gender, I originally just scribbled down the simplest form of a Demi-Lich.
