History Post! . The Deery Inn is one of many Historical structures built in the late 1700s in Blountville, TN. Originally it was a log structure to serve as a bed for weary travelers, but expanded to 19 rooms, a general store, and tavern thanks to its namesake, William Deery, when he acquired the property in 1801. . During the Civil War, the Cates' family leased the building, and bribed both the Union and Confederate army to spare his building. (They did, obv) . The Pearson family operated the Inn until 1930 when they shut the doors permanently. In 1940 it was updated for the 19th century look, but now it's a museum. . . Handler didn't get a full shot of the updated building, but in the last photo you can see it from 1927. . . . #oldbuilding #deeryinn #thedeeryinn #williamdeery #blountvilletn #history #historicalpost #buckyexplains #travelbuddy #iambuckydoll #buckydoll #wintersoldier #bucky #buckybarnes #jamesbarnes #mcu #marvel #sebastianstan #captainamerica #toyphotography #toysofinstagram #plushielife #plushiesofinstagram (at Old Deery Inn) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE17wp8FLp7/?igshid=17gw6tkuxzl9
