365 Creatures: Week 14!
It's... been a while. I swear, I had one little computer crash and suddenly I forget Tumblr exists. So... weekly updates over the next few days! This was a good week, showcasing the essence of Alien April. ARK creatures, Subnautica, Avatar, and the occasional real (but strangely topical) animals!
92. Broodmother Lysrix
Ah, the big spider lady. I don't know what it is about this giant monstrosity that I'm so endeared to. Maybe it's the colors, maybe it's the big ol eyes. And the purple version from the Annunaki Mod? I love. I named her Lotus. She was a dream and a blast. But yes, giant spider pretty.
93. Deathworm
Another ARK monstrosity that I'm endeared to! But where I go 'aww cutie' at the Broodmother, for the deathworm it's more like... 'how cool and terrifying'. Like, I love the design. And I have a mod that expands their color. But when they dive into the sand... yeah my heebies are a little jeebied. Also the fact that said mod allows them to grab you from the sand? Still horrific.
94. Fancy Rat
I'm a strong supporter of cute little rats. I love any little creature with fun color variations! And, just like the ball pythons, I couldn't choose just one. So I gladly drew two cute little guys. And look! They even have little harnesses for rats! You can take your rat on walkies! What a life...
95. Pinnacarid
I'm excited to do this one's colors. It's like a little rainbow orca anomalocaris seal. And isn't that what we all want? Now, am I capable of playing Subnautica? No, as I'm unwilling to enter The Depths. But can I enjoy their fun creature designs? Absolutely yes, I can. Plus, watching people freak out on playthroughs is always fun.
96. Cloaked Panther
It's Alien April, so of course I'm doing Pandoran creatures. There's so many good ones! And... with very complicated markings. But this one wasn't actually all that bad! I actually got it all done on one layer, and I like the result. Anyway, a speedy cheetah creature that can glide at you? Wonderful.
97. Warper
This is one of my favorite Subnautica creatures... and also one of the reasons that I Can Not Ever play that game, because what do you mean I could be teleported out of the safety of my vehicle?? With my luck, it would happen right in front of a leviathan. No thank you. But the Warper? Very cool, very purple, very cool alien.
98. Horned Puffin
Puffins kinda got alien vibes, so this fits perfectly! Now, of course, this was not posted on Puffin Arrival Day. Because sometimes The List requires sacrifices. Sacrifices that I kinda actually don't remember what was for, but... I can't question past me. Past me (probably) knew what she was doing. But! Cute lil bird!
Week 14 was a great into to Alien April... if only this had actually been posted then. Like the Cloaked Panther forshadowed, those Pandora creatures... they took a lot. And thus, tumblr was utterly forgotten. But maybe I'll be on target now! Hopefully. Probably.
