A Writing Tip That I Tell Myself
Sometimes I have to continuously tell myself that it doesn’t matter how many pages I write for the first draft as long as it makes a feature when all is done and finished.
Yeah, that can only to do much before I realize that I’m still at the beginning of my act 2 and only about 30 pages in. I have a treatment, so I just need to wrap up this first draft with weeks to spare before the contest deadline.
You know how much I normally use pose references?
Not much. Hardly any, really.
But I was working on a short comic (I estimate the final is going to be around 50 pages or so) and I neEDED SO MUCH REFERENCE FOR A PERSON RIPPING ANOTHER PERSON’S ARM OFF!
I doubt I can finish it in time for Comic Con (they’ve advertised for Comic Village, claiming there will be pro’s available to give feedback and such), but I can try! It doesn’t have to be polished, but I can’t let it get too sloppy either since I want actual useful feedback on it, UGH!
And it’d be best if I can make at least 20 more pages (bumping me up to 30, minimum), even if it’s not finished, because that’ll give a good sense of what the story really is.
… I feel stressed. Why am I doing this to myself…?

fridays are commission work nights and I am just chugging along ... why does everything have the same deadline.....
