Tyranniko Stories

Nore didn’t know whether she wanted tea or just to she the cute barista at the small cozy café she goes to. Instead, she staggers outside the doors, taking in deep breaths and prepping herself. Civilians look to the woman as if she were crazy. She wasn’t.

Counting to ten, Nore steps through the threshold.

“Welcome to Java Java, how may I help you?” The voice was sickly sweet. Like it was rehearsed over and over again. Nore looks up and smiles. Her dark brown hair covering the nervousness showcasing on her face.

Nore walks over to the counter, she’s rubbing her forearm. That was unusual. She didn’t look up with her came face to face with the barista.

“Can I have a medium jasmine silver needle tea.” Nore looks up. The barista’s hazel eyes tower over her. She smirks and grabs one of the cups.

“Sure, your name please?” The sickly-sweet voice is back again.

“Um, Nore.” The barista writes more than just her name if the additional stokes outside of four have anything to say.

“That will be 5 Mitra and 3 Wafts.” She states and quickly places the paper cup to the side. Nore hands her the 5 Mitra and 3 Wafts. The last of the coins lands in her hand after handing the barista the 5 Mitra. “Would you like a receipt?”

Nore shakes her head. She didn’t trust her voice to blurt out the correct thing. What is wrong with herself? She never acts like this, but this barista has the appeal to her not even Ikido has that hold over her.

Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. Nore impatiently waits for her name to be called to grab her drink.

“Nore.” The secondary barista calls out setting a steaming hot cup down on the table. Nore walks over it and immediately notice the extra details:

Haruka; I get off at 5. :)

Look I got bigger shit to deal and work with than to be upset about a contest that I knew going into it that I wasn’t going to win. 

Who gets a line of dialogue when there are more than three characters in a scene? 

Meet Emi one of my OC that I had created for a series that I’m 90% sure will never be fully done. 

After 4 months,

after scrapping one draft to quickly write the next 

a series of procrastination moments 

 and a whole lot of doubt

I was finally able to finish the editing just enough to submit it into the contest that ends soon. 

Thank you to all that was able to review/edit my script. So many of the moments have changed and I believe for the best. I’m not expecting to win the contest but just the ability to finish a featured length movie script and go through the judging process is enough for me to keep going with my decision to become a screenwriter.
