Jack decides to bond with his kid's boyfriends with a fishing trip, as is traditional among men. Naturally, they end up fighting a lake monster.
Jack stared at the sight before him. An enormous kraken-like creature was rampaging in the water, its tentacles flying everywhere.
Jack watched as Tim, who was held within Kon’s arms in the air, directed his brothers Dick and Jason in what to do as they simultaneously used electric sticks or a Glock 17 from a mysterious generation.
Duke, meanwhile, was flying across the lake with his light powers, blasting the tentacles. Kon occasionally struck the creature with his laser beams.
Jack was silent before he turned to the side, where both Jon and Damian were releasing the fish.
He turned back to the front where Jason was now captured, being used as a rattle toy. Dick was crying out in distress while Tim was shouting directions in vain. Kon was flying back and forth like a headless fly while Duke had collapsed on the shore some distance away. Whatever plan they had failed.
Jack looked back again.
Both preteens were now trying to release the live bait that they had. Damian was making direct eye contact with Jack, knowing that he couldn’t stop them.
Jack looked back up front.
Jason was able to get himself out and with his other brothers, they attacked the creature in unison with various war cries and Kon flying overhead, holding back several other tentacles.
The creature was finally slain and it burst like a balloon of seafood and purple blood. Jack rubbed his chin thoughtfully as they all landed into the water, immediately swimming upwards and back to the boat, covered in murky purple blood and lake water. Kon landed on the boat first and helped the others up as they swam over.
Jon helped while Damian laughed at the disheveled looks on his brothers’ faces, only reaching out to help Dick and Duke.
“Good job, boys! I knew you could do it!”
Jack smiled broadly, clapping Duke on the back, who yelped at the force. Tim patted him much more gently on the shoulder, looking sympathetic, although Jack didn’t really understand.
“Well… since dinner is gone,” Jack deliberately did not look at Damian as he said this, “Then who’s up for seafood?”
The boys all groaned in unison.
“Jazz owes me so much for this,” Jason muttered.
