I maintain their friendship is the one good thing to come out of the Orphan era. And now that Clayface is back to being a villain again I very much need all that juicy betrayal angst. I need it to really fucking hurt for the both of them.

Cass fights every bit as hard to save killers as she does to save the innocent. She is every bit as committed to the belief that everybody can change and deserves a second chance as she is committed to saving every life. That's why she only ever hits badguys exactly as hard as she needs to to stop them while hurting them as little as possible. If a murderer wanted to change, she would fight the whole goddamn world and happily die to give them that chance. Cass has to try to believe there's hope for everybody, even murderers, because she is one. That's a huge core pillar to her character.

Not at first. Intentionally or no, the Hulk tends to put innocent people in danger and that's something Cass cannot abide. The being said the Hulk, while heavily mutated, is still a human and therefore she should be able to read his body language just fine. So I imagine it wouldn't take long for her to realize he's just a cornered animal lashing out and try to reach out to him. After that, yes I do think they'd get along famously. They have all the same interests. Like food. And being the strongest there is. And they both struggle with language and have zero patience for the rules of polite society. Most importantly though, she could introduce Hulk to Barda and Barda would become his new favorite person.

Dudes the last time she dropped off the face of the Earth without explanation like that she was getting captured, drugged and brainwashed into being a homicidal supervillain. They should be very worried.
