firestorm rant I'm not done reading all of og firestorm stuff but something hurts a lot when considering that original character creator for firestorm, Gerry Conway passed this year and now the current mini fully established new status quo which retcons all of original work which was story of great friendship against the odds into yet another cynical(? unsure if that's best word to describe it) take on superheroes. I get that some heroes need to be rewrapped to become marketable again but i really don't think there was need to change the whole nature of relationship between ronnie and martin to reintroduce them to new audience even if the following issues will give more body to the relationship they shared and will try to humanise martin more, it's still such cheap way to introduce conflict i get edgy writing drive to put in grooming and exploitation references any time friendly relationship between someone younger and someone older is presented on pages but i think it's ok if comics have some friendships between unlikely people which don't end up hiding some evil right under surface (if there is something in Gc's original work that hints on such state of matters then all good i look forward to read more , but this is just based on relatively limited view i have of character and series so far)

Low-key at this point I'm more excited to read what tumblr firestorm ppl have to say about new issues that come out than the new issues themselves
