This month’s bookmark is for re:coded, so here’s the data boys! I had a lot of fun with figuring out the background.

what’s the deal with the younger Riku(s)?
E3 Pirates of the Caribbean trailer: A younger Riku in the dark outfit on Destiny Islands. His eyes are regular green (although Marluxia was originally shown in a trailer without the yellow eyes, so this could just be misdirection). When the trailer first dropped a lot of people thought this was Repliku. Interestingly, he doesn’t seem to be antagonistic towards Riku at the moment.
Big Hero 6 trailer: A younger Riku in the Organization cloak in the Big Hero 6 world. Got those Nort yellow eyes. A lot of people were theorising this as Data-Riku, on account of the Bug Blox also appearing in the Big Hero 6 world. This one seems to be antagonistic, based on Sora’s dialogue in this scene.
Final Battle trailer: A younger Riku in the dark suit in the world with all the ruins (which may or may not be the Keyblade Graveyard). This time he has the yellow eyes. This one is fighting Riku, while Ansem SoD watches the battle. Clearly antagonistic. One thing I think might be important to note, this Riku is not using a keyblade.
Riku’s sword Soul Eater from KH1 and CoM on the left, his Way to the Dawn keyblade from KH2 onwards on the right. We can pretty clearly see that that 3rd younger Riku is using Soul Eater. But we know that Riku left Way to the Dawn (broken, but still) behind in the Realm of Darkness “in case the other me needs it” (Theme Song trailer).
Honestly, I’m not suite sure what this means. My best guess is that both the Riku’s in the dark suit are Repliku, but then I’m left wondering if he starts as a Nort and gets un-Norted, or vice-versa. Is that really Data-Riku? How did he get Norted? He definitely didn’t seem to have much inclination towards darkness the last time we saw him in Coded. What role if any will Way to the Dawn play in saving either or both of the Rikus, if they can in fact be saved.

imagine if the mobile thingy has been infused with Jiminy's Journal in Kingdom Hearts 3, and when I say Jiminy's Journal I mean Data-Riku.
